Set on the grounds of the owner’s country house, lose yourself in superb panoramic views across the Brecon Beacons from almost every window of this cosy loft conversion that’s part of an original 18th-century farmhouse. A haven for birdwatchers and outdoor explorers, discover long, scenic walks carving their way through the Brecon Beacons from the doorstep.
Feel as though you’ve been transported to centuries past in the rustic yet homely lounge/kitchen/diner. The roaring wood burner and eclectic mix of artwork create a true warmth that beckons you to cuddle up on the comfy sofa, rustle up a locally sourced feast and dine long into the evening with a glass of something chilled seated around the dining table. On a fine evening, throw open the patio doors to embrace views of the unspoilt rolling countryside. When you can’t resist the call of bedtime, you have a charming double and single bedroom to retire to for a peaceful slumber. Outside, take in your far-reaching rural views by strolling the adjoining field or dining alfresco in the patio area at the top of the external steps.
This tranquil location in the Brecon Beacons National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with long country walks in neighbouring fields on your doorstep boasting some excellent picnic spots; lay out your blanket and spot the red kites, woodpeckers and jays flying overhead. Head to the historic market town of Brecon 4.5 miles away famous for its iconic cathedral, to explore its maze of narrow streets and passageways lined with Georgian and Jacobean shop fronts. Keen walkers can discover the remains of ancient Brecon Y Gaer and Pen-y Crug forts 3.5 miles away whilst those who love life on the water can hire a rowing boat, kayak or pedalo at Llangorse Lake 11.5 miles away.
