The Brecon Beacons National Park offers the avid walker and keen cyclist spectacular scenery at any time of the year, with rolling countryside and valleys and the wild beauty of waterfalls and caves. The park is home to traditional market towns, castles, ancient monuments and miles of canal where many pretty walks can be enjoyed. For the less energetic, pony trekking, canal cruising or the local Brecon Steam Railway are a must. Travel a little further to Hay-on-Wye with its numerous book shops, visit the craft and collectors’ fairs and the four day Royal Welsh Agricultural Show at Builth Wells, or explore the delightful medieval town of Abergavenny. A perfect base for an all-year-round family holiday.
