This romantic couple’s retreat offers an authentic slice of country life. Located well off the beaten track and set on a working farm where horses, dogs and poultry reside, this property offers a break for two from everyday life with its fabulous far-reaching views.
Approached along a quiet lane, this blissful little bolthole sits high on a hillside beside the owner’s farmstead. With one floor and plenty of comfort, together-time is guaranteed thanks to a thoughtfully furnished open-plan living room that floods with natural light. Cook up a storm in the contemporary kitchen space before dwelling over your day at the dining table for two. When it’s time to retire, the bedroom can be configured as either a king-size or a twin room, offering a pretty space with a calming ambience. Wake up with a shower next morning then enjoy breakfast on the decking area; there’s a fire pit in the garden to take the chill out of evenings where you can enjoy alfresco food and drinks. An external shed/utility room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer, shower and other conveniences, while on-site stables offer space for your horse that is welcome to join, or storage for bicycles.
With rolling hills, foot trails and a National Park on your doorstep, this really is the ideal location for lovers of the outdoors. A mile away is the historic village of Aberedw which plays host to a community-owned inn, an 11th-century church, the remains of two medieval castles and the famous Llewellyn’s Cave. Head 17 miles to find the northern edge of the National Park and you’ll discover the cathedral town of Brecon where charming Georgian architecture, a host of independent stores and the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal are among the many attractions. Closer to Home, Builth Wells (five miles) has more links to local history, with beautiful houses and shopfronts that pepper the streets, with the gorgeous Groe Park sitting beside the River Wye.
