About this property

Owls Meadow, a charming two-bedroom lodge in the Powys village of Trefeglwys, is nestled within the Meadow Springs Country & Leisure Park. Owls Meadow is a fantastic base for couples or a family of four, thanks to its fantastic location and on-site facilities, which include the high-end Arthur's bar and restaurant, a children's playground, and picturesque woodland and lakeside walks. Park-up in one of two off-road spaces, before unloading your bags and stepping into your new home from home. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy dishwasher, ready to enjoy over a celebratory bottle of fizz at the dining table for four. If the weather is nice, why not make dinner an alfresco affair out the enclosed veranda, followed by an indulgent soak in the bubbling hot tub? As the evening cools, retire to the plush sofas and enjoy the warmth of the electric fire as you settle down to watch your favourite show on the Smart TV. Wash away the day in the gleaming shower room, complete with rainfall shower, before choosing from two beautifully-presented bedrooms to catch your rest in, a king-size with en-suite shower room and a twin. For those times when you don't feel like cooking, take your loved ones out to the popular on-site bar and restaurant of Arthur's or the nearby Red Lion for dinner and drinks. Trefeglwys also has a well-stocked convenience store where you can purchase fresh ingredients or any essentials. Continue on to Llanidloes, where you can practise your swing at the famous St Idloes Golf Club or enjoy a meal at the well-known Whistling Badger. Check out the Clywedog Reservoir on the outskirts of the village, where you can tour the intriguing Bryntail Lead Mine Buildings, spot the local fauna, or take in the stunning views from the Clywedog Dam viewpoint. The Newtown Textile Museum, The Robert Owen Museum, and the Pwll Penarth Nature Reserve are all well worth a visit in Newtown. The renowned Shropshire Hills (AONB) is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking for breath-taking views and wonderful walking and cycling options. Be sure to check out the famous National Trust site of Powis Castle and Garden, the Wharf Powysland Museum, the nature reserves of Llyn Coed y Dinas and Whitehouse, and the Montgomery Canal Trail, all of which can be found in the thriving town of Welshpool. For a truly memorable experience, be sure to hop aboard the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, where you can kick-back and relax as you soak up the views. Your next adventure to Wales awaits with a stay at Owls Meadow.

With its own shop and tavern, the village is an ideal location for hiking, cycling and fishing, as well as for birdwatching and kite-feeding. Clay pigeon shooting is also possible. Historic Llanidloes is just six miles distant, nestled amongst the rolling hills of the River Severn in Powys. Black and white timber-framed buildings and the majestic mediaeval market hall are just two examples of the city's architectural diversity. The town has a wide range of attractions, including antique stores, bars, restaurants, and riverbank walks. Llyn Clywedog's 236ft dam and Hafren Forest's watersports and stunning scenery are both within a short distance of the property.

Everything you need in the lodge, very good facilities. There is a restaurant on site which is extremely good . The walks on the park are beautiful nice and easy strolls . The added bonus of a hot tub too , great idea . A nice touch was the bottle of wine in the fridge ! Will definitely be going back again .

Bar and restaurant closed on the second day with no notices displayed, food and bar was lovely when open though and staff were great. Told on the first day the tap in the kitchen was loose and a plumber would be round on the second day, never turned up for the duration of our stay. Hot tub was not very private. If you want a self catering, relaxing stay on site for a few days, then would be perfect. Shower was amazing.
