An optimal endpoint for any walk is in Crickhowell (3 miles), a charming Welsh market town with shops, pubs and restaurants to fall into after a long hike. Set in the Usk Valley, this town has a spectacular river running right through it and offers pretty, riverside walks into the depths of the national park. In the opposite direction, the river moves towards the nearby town of Abergavenny (7 miles), a much livelier locale with lots going on.
