Decide between dining indoors or choosing to dine al fresco under the stars, a perfect choice for a romantic meal for two. After spending the evening soaking in the warmth of the hot tub and gazing at the stars, make your way back inside and freshen up with either a hot shower or steaming bath in the freestanding bath in the bedroom, then put on your comfiest pyjamas and cuddle up on the sofa to watch your favourite movie on the Smart TV. Ystrad Wen lies in the heart of some of the most unspoilt scenery in Wales, you are surrounded by traditional hay meadows and areas of woodland, parkland and wet pasture leading down to the banks of the River Wye. The Cambrian Mountains are the undiscovered heart of Wales, an area of outstanding natural beauty which offers wild empty spaces, from woodland walks to the more challenging routes that take you into the vast moorlands, one of the least visited spots in Wales you can feel that you have the place to yourself. For star gazers you must visit the Elan Valley Estate, an International Dark Sky Park, made up of 6 Dark Sky Discovery Sites and the perfect place to see the night skies at their best. Ystrad Wen is the perfect place to escape to. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1128627, sleeping up to 6 guests.

Situated on the meandering River Wye, Newbridge-on-Wye is a small and pretty village, just a short drive from lots of little villages and market towns, including the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells. Fabulous walking can be done in the Radnor Forest and just ten miles away are the fantastic Elan Valley reservoirs and impressive Victorian dams. Take a trip to Rhayader, a bustling Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques, as well as the added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The cabin is gorgeous and the location is amazing! The real difference with Ystrad Wen is the attention to detail. Rachel hasn't overlooked anything when presenting this beautiful holiday cabin. Welcome basket on arrival for us and the dogs was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Won't go in to too much detail regarding the extra touches as to not spoil the delightful of realising how much careful thought went in to it. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants the perfect relaxing break. I would also suggest to anyone who does book to consider a day out around Elan Valley, stunning views of the dams and then lunch in Rhayader.

It was my wife's birthday on the day we arrived and the owners had left a beautiful bouquet of flowers and bottle of wine along with a birthday card for her. We decided to have a stroll down to the 'local pub' (highly recommended) and Banty even offered to give us a lift back later in the day. We highly recommend staying here and we will certainly be back. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The photos don’t do the cabin justice. The owners are lovely people, who checked in at the start and the end of our stay. Neither of us can wait to go back!
