This Grade II listed building overlooks a picturesque countryside, with parking space for two cars on the gravel driveway, making it ideal for a family of four. Sorry, no pets. The Old Rectory Cottage will welcome you into its wide hallway, decorated with a candelabra and Grandfather clock. Turn left and enter the kitchen and dining area, where a table for four, plus a highchair, waits to be utilised for family dinners. Cooking those dinners can be done with the help of a double oven, ceramic hob, toaster, microwave, and fridge/freezer. No need to volunteer for wash-up duty - just place your plates in the dishwasher! On sun-filled mornings, enjoy breakfast in the courtyard, with seating space for the whole family. Two large, leather sofas face a woodburning stove and Smart TV resting in the sitting room, making this the ideal room to relax after a long day of adventure. A bookcase stocked with games and books wraps around the walls, hugging the lounge with ideas and escape. The town of Montgomery sits just one mile from the border of England in Mid Wales. Popular with tourists, the town has a delightful selection of individual shops and a variety of pubs and restaurants, including the Michelin star restaurant, The Checkers, a fabulous way to make your holiday truly special. Pay a visit to the ruins of the 13th century Montgomery Castle, which enjoys beautiful views over the town’s timber-framed houses and cobbled streets, and beyond across Wales. The castle also hosts productions of touring theatre groups regularly during the summer. A few miles to the south is the historic market town of Bishop's Castle, an excellent place for a day or night out with its excellent pubs, live music and festivals throughout the year. The wider area is wonderful for walking and there are many cycle routes in the surrounding countryside with varying levels of difficulty. You can venture further into Wales with a drive up to the Snowdonia National Park, or directly west to Cardigan Bay, for the day, or hop back over the border and explore the Shropshire Hills aonb.
