About this property

Enjoying an elevated position overlooking the glorious Welsh countryside is this superbly appointed farmhouse, resting a short distance away from the ancient town of Presteigne. From the outset, this large holiday accommodation boasts a seamless blend of character and contemporary, making a great base for groups of families and friends to call home as they explore this part of the country, which rests on the border of England and Wales. Soak up your surroundings before entering into the large kitchen/diner, with the Range cooker takes centre stage before all of the other quality appliances within this farmhouse-style kitchen and the large dining table, where everyone can gather to raise a glass to a superb holiday before tucking into a home-cooked dish. Afterwards, your evening can be spent within the sitting room, look forward to cosying up on the plush seating arrangement with the electric fire offering a gentle warmth during the colder months. The second sitting room within the cottage will delight younger guests of the group, where they can escape to watch whatever they wish to on the TV. Grandparents or those who simply do not wish to climb the staircase, will love the ground-floor king-size bedroom with its elegant furnishings, good wardrobe storage and access to a sleek shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. The elegance of the ground floor is continued up onto the first floor, where four additional bedrooms await. Choose between a family bedroom with super-king-size bedroom (zip/link beds, can be made into twins on request) and single bed, a family bedroom with double bed and single bed, a double with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, and a king-size with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, designed to ensure a flexible sleeping arrangement for all party make ups. Continuing to impress is the garden area, where the large lawns are great for letting the younger guests play and the table and chairs upon the patio offer an alternative spot for some dining and enjoying a beverage during a balmy afternoon. After an action-packed day or a long walk upon the countryside, look forward to savouring a moment of relaxation within the bubbling hot tub, with the stunning backdrop to admire. Better acquaint yourself with your surroundings by taking a trip into Presteigne town, where you will find a superb array of places to eat and drink, as well as shops for picking up any last-minute essentials. Meander the winding streets to admire the black and white timbered buildings before reaching the award-winning Judges’ Lodgings, a Victorian museum complete with stunning judges’ apartments, servants’ quarters, courtroom and cells. From here, keen walkers can look forward to exploring the famous Offa’s Dyke Path or walk alongside the River Lugg, where fishing opportunities are available. Other attractions nearby include the enchanting garden of Bryan's Ground and the stunning landscape of the Shropshire Hills is within easy reach for even more outdoor adventures. Alternatively, use this base to explore the delights of Leominster, Hay-on-Wye and Ludlow. The Farm promises to be a wonderful retreat that the whole family will love.

Presteigne is an ancient town resting on the banks of the River Lugg, on the border of England and Wales and has been voted one of the top 10 towns in Britain by Country Life magazine. Within the town you will find a plethora of black and white timbered buildings, narrow cobbled streets, individual shops, tea rooms and traditional pubs. Beautifully appointed and presented. We loved the hot tub ( and the dedicated towel drawer!). We loved the thoughtful welcome hamper! Great views and great walks from the house! Thank you

The pictures definitely do not do the property justice. Would definitely recommend to all. Property owner kindly sent on a forgotten item very promptly which was greatly appreciated. Thanks for a brilliant stay xx

Very well equipped and spacious and the host Anita was very welcoming and available if we had any concerns. The hot tub was an added bonus enjoyed by all, but particularly the children in our group who used it twice daily! Would definitely recommend this property and return again if visiting the area.
