Rhayader 8.5 miles. Ashdale is a charming, detached house on a working beef and sheep farm in the heart of mid-Wales, near Rhayader, Powys. This delightful abode is perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a serene getaway amidst the stunning Welsh countryside. Upon entering this single-storey property, you will be greeted by three inviting bedrooms; a king-size, a double, and a twin, all tastefully decorated and ready to provide a peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom is well-appointed with a bath, perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring the local area. The heart of the home is the well-equipped kitchen, where you can prepare delicious meals to be enjoyed in the dining room, which comfortably seats six. The dining room also boasts a TV and an electric fire, creating a warm atmosphere for those cooler evenings. The sitting room, complete with a TV equipped with an Amazon Fire Stick and an electric fire, provides a relaxing space for unwinding and catching up on your favourite shows. Outside you will find an enclosed front patio, the perfect spot to take in the panoramic views during sunrise with a cup of coffee. When you tire of the home comforts, venture out into Rhayader to witness the Red Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, where you can watch these magnificent birds of prey in their natural habitat. Stroll along the serene Rhayader Riverside Walk, a leafy track offering stunning views and a chance to relax amongst nature's splendour. Rhayader is a small Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques. An added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The Red Kite Feeding Station, on the outskirts of the town is a great attraction not to be missed. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The Elan Valley offers a variety of walks and cycle trails (cycle hire is available in Rhayader), as well as a visitor’s centre with café and children's play area. This area is known as the Wildlife Centre of Wales, with its amazing variety of nature reserves open for visitors to enjoy. There is also pony trekking available in the area. Visit Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually. Alternatively, a scenic drive will take you to the Welsh coast 34 miles away.

It was an amazing week away, beautiful home beautiful surroundings. I will certainly be going back to Ashdaie again. The host are lovely people always ready to help if you need them. I would reccomend Ashdale to anyone looking for a rest in peaceful beautiful surroundings with everything you need for a lovely stay. Nice local places to visit also for a day out
