Welcoming canine companions too, it sits in pretty gardens and is surrounded by farms and woodland. The three-bedroom, semi-detached cottage is 4 miles from the market town of Rhayader and 13 miles from the elegant Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells.

Let yourselves into this rural Welsh retreat via the hall and wander on inside to discover welcoming accommodation with ample space for all. While away cosy evenings together beside a roaring wood burner in the inviting lounge/diner, which has beautiful leaded windows. Settle in here in front of the TV or play games together after lively meals around the table. Whip up hearty feasts in the kitchen/diner, where there is a handy breakfast table, and pull a bottle of chilled wine from the fridge to enjoy as you dine. There is also a utility room downstairs, plus a separate WC. Make your way up to the first floor to your three bedrooms. These include two doubles, one with an en-suite shower room, and a twin. There is also a good-sized family bathroom. Take morning coffee out into the sunshine on summer days. Dine out on the patio as you soak up the beautiful scenery and serenity.

Stroll over to the River Elan which runs past the front of the cottage. Pick up the Elan Valley Trail which will take you alongside the Caban Coch Reservoir. This area is also known for its spectacular dams, which are well worth discovering via footpaths and cycle routes. Take the children to see the birds of prey at the Valley View Falconry, 8 miles away.
