Llanerfyl 1.3 miles. A superb detached single storey cottage near the village of Llanerfyl in Welshpool. In unspoilt seclusion on the banks of a babbling brook, this property offers a relaxing ‘get away from it all’ location for a couple, two friends or a small family. Situated amongst some of the most stunning countryside in Mid Wales, this charming cottage enjoys wonderful views and is an ideal base for exploring all of Mid and North Wales and into Shropshire, or for enjoying the outdoor activities in the area. Lovingly refurbished to a high standard this charming cottage is well-appointed and tastefully styled with some lovely features, such as oak flooring and ledge and brace doors. The welcoming sitting room is comfy with a wonderful stone inglenook fireplace housing a warming wood burning stove, perfect during those cooler months. A fully fitted country style kitchen is well-equipped and caters for all your needs, complete with dining table and chairs, ideal for a leisurely breakfast or late supper. Two bedrooms, individually styled and decorated in pastel shades will ensure rest and relaxation and the bathroom, situated off the sitting room completes this delightful cottage. The setting and surrounding countryside really does set this cottage apart, the gardens are a lovely feature, well maintained and planted with an abundance of flowering plants and shrubs which change with this seasons, ensuring splashes of colours all year round. There is ample parking, and even though the cottage appears slightly elevated you can drive up to the front door making it easily accessible for anyone who finds steps or slopes a little challenging. At the rear of the cottage is a wonderful decked seating area with gas BBQ, perfect for alfresco moments, and if that’s not enough then a relaxing soak in the hot tub will round the day off perfectly, and with no light pollution, star gazing long into the night will be a real treat. Just 1 mile from this small Mid Wales holiday cottage is the small village of Llanerfyl set amidst acres of rolling hills. Llanfair Caereinion is 5 miles away has a range of amenities including post office, library, grocery store, doctor, butcher and baker. More extensive shopping can be done at Welshpool 15 miles away. There are some wonderful lanes and cycle routes to enjoy from the cottage and walks are in abundance. This area of Wales boasts fabulous days out, visit the majestic National Trust Powis Castle and gardens or enjoy a picnic by the sweeping shores of Lake Vyrnwy, an RSPB reserve, close to the Snowdonia National Park and the Berwyn Mountain range, both just a short drive away. You are ideally placed to explore the diverse countryside that the Welsh Marches offers with various outdoor activities such as canoeing, fishing, cycling, birdwatching and climbing. A magnificent setting to explore mountains, lakes and lowlands, with plenty of pretty, historic market towns scattered across this truly beautiful landscape, with the coast being one hour's drive away.     Really clean and such a home from home. You can see Carol has put her heart into this place and we will be returning! We found lots of waterfalls and great walks lakes and canels some real beautiful places a drive away. Then in the evenings we get into the hot tub with beautiful scenery surroundings us. we light the log burner and get cozy for the cooler evenings we have now being October!
