Guests say

The Old Granary in Conwy is a charming and picturesque cottage appreciated for its rustic decor, homely feel, and efficient log burner. Guests enjoy the property's peaceful location, ideal for exploring North Wales and its secure garden for dogs. The Aga in the kitchen adds to the cosy experience, and the property's character is highlighted by its unique features.

The majority of the house, including the kitchen, was very clean, though some guests noted the presence of cobwebs, suggesting room for improvement in thoroughness.

The cottage's location is highly praised for being picturesque and perfect for exploring North Wales, with amenities and dining options within a reasonable distance.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the log burner effective, though some mentioned that the main sofa and mattress could be more comfortable, indicating a need for updates.

The property is well-received for its Aga and log burner, but feedback suggests a need for showers, a washing machine, and better kitchen equipment. The garden also requires maintenance.

While guests have provided positive feedback on the property's offerings and the host's helpfulness, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness.

Beyond here, a brief drive east along the coast will bring you to Colwyn Bay, home to the Bryn Euryn Nature Reserve and Welsh Mountain Zoo, both attractions that are perfect for families. The popular village of Betws-y-Coed is located slightly further south, but is well-worth the visit, as attractions such as the Conwy Valley Railway Museum and the Pont-y-Pair Bridge provide hours of entertainment, whilst the idyllic Cyrau Viewpoint offers up breathtaking views of Snowdonia. Enjoy all of this and more by booking The Old Granary.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is unquestionably well-known around the world for its historical and architectural legacy, yet the centre of the town is a hive of busy activity. There are numerous specialised stores, eateries, and motels in addition to its traditional festivals and fairs, musical performances, galleries, and tourist attractions. Conwy Castle, which was constructed for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, is still regarded as one of the finest examples of mediaeval military construction. The castle's unusual, elongated shape—complete with two barbicans, eight enormous towers, and a large bow-shaped hall—was likely influenced by the castle's location on a small rocky outcrop. The Gwledd Conwy Feast, the Honey Fair, the Seed Fair, and other yearly festivals, events, and fairs, as well as other musical occasions throughout the year, are just a few of the town's many annual celebrations of its historical traditions, which it is pleased to uphold. Conwy is the ideal starting point for exploring the stunning Snowdonia National Park, strolling along undeveloped sandy beaches, or taking in the breathtaking nature right outside your door. The Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which have the longest zip line in Europe, are also close by, while Surf Snowdonia is only six miles distant.

The master bedroom is to die for. We loved the peaceful location but still not far from lots to do. We already re-booked for next year.

Dogs loved the very secure garden, we had evenings with the log burner lit and torrential rain outside Experimented cooking on the aga - two hours to cook sausages. The bath in the main bedroom is big enough for two, plenty hot water, shower pressure is brilliant The beds were really comfy - unusual for a holiday let - so good night's sleep every night Could do with a bit more stuffing in the main sofa and an intro pack would have been useful - emergency numbers, supermarkets, pubs nearby etc - and a history of the building - what was the frame used for that makes the headboard, why is there a trapdoor under the bed In general we couldn't have really wanted for more - everything we needed, logs to last for a week, happy little dogs. The owner told us about woodlands higher up where we could let the dogs run free and burn off some energy Would highly recommend the place and have done so already to friends
