Guests say

Nant Cottage is highly praised for its idyllic location, cleanliness, and cosy charm. Guests appreciate the proximity to nature, with waterfalls and wildlife enhancing the experience. The property's historical character and modern conveniences blend seamlessly, offering a peaceful retreat with ample walking and sightseeing opportunities.

Reviewers consistently note the cottage's exceptional cleanliness, with several mentioning it was spotless upon arrival. The attention to hygiene and absence of dust or webs, even with the property's age and rural setting, is frequently commended.

The cottage's location is celebrated for its tranquillity and natural beauty, with easy access to walking trails, waterfalls, and local attractions in Snowdonia. Its proximity to amenities and historical sites adds to its appeal.

Comfort is highlighted, with guests finding the cottage cosy, especially with the log fire. However, a few guests mentioned the beds being too hard and the shower temperature being difficult to regulate, which slightly impacts the score.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good Wi-Fi. Some guests suggested improvements such as better hot water capacity for showers and additional curtains to prevent drafts. The historical charm is appreciated, though the stairs present challenges for those with mobility issues.

Many guests were delighted by the thoughtful touches, such as welcome treats and bird seed for the garden's wildlife. While these gestures are warmly mentioned, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Llanrwst 1 mile; Betws-y-Coed 3 miles.

A superb, detached stone-built cottage situated in a truly idyllic woodland position on the edge of the Gwydir Forest and only 300 yards from Gwydir Castle, within the Snowdonia National Park. The property enjoys over three hundred years of history and retains many original features including two foot thick stone walls, inglenook fireplaces and beamed ceilings. More recently it has been sympathetically modernised to an exceptionally high standard and offers every modern comfort. Visitors will also enjoy the sunny garden and the sound of nearby waterfalls. Betws-y-Coed, with its many amenities, is three miles away.

Betwys-Y-Coed is the most popular holiday destination in North Wales. When you take a look at what it has to offer, it's easy to see why. The town is, quite literally, the Gateway to Snowdonia, a breathtaking National Park comprising 832 square miles of the most beautiful and unspoilt countryside in North Wales. The whole region is a haven for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts and there are also a variety of outdoor activities including cycling, mountain walks and horse riding. The River Conwy also plays host to many fishermen and boaters who enjoy the tranquillity and beautiful scenery. Bets-Y-Coed is well served by shops and restaurants, making it the perfect base from which to explore the area.

The cottage itself is very clean and just like a home from home, everything you need to ensure your stay is amazing has been thought of and then provided. The hosts are amazing and on hand if needed. Quite simply the best cottage we have found in the twenty years we have been lucky enough to visit north wales.
