Guests say

Ty'r Heulwen in Aberdovey is praised for its stunning views, comfortable living spaces, and proximity to the beach and local attractions. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property and the balcony overlooking the golf course. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with mentions of a clean and practical kitchen and well-equipped rooms. However, there are isolated complaints about a greasy cooking smell and the need for a deep clean, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is highly praised for its easy access to Aberdovey village, nearby beaches, and stunning scenery. The convenience of local attractions and the peaceful setting contribute to a high score.

Guests find the property comfortable, with adequate seating and spacious rooms. Some concerns about bed comfort and a request for an anti-slip bath mat suggest room for improvement, but overall satisfaction with comfort is high.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the property being described as well-equipped. However, there are several reports of maintenance issues such as a non-working oven and grill, squeaky bunk beds, and a rusty table on the balcony, which affect the score.

While guests mention a welcoming touch with cakes on arrival, there is insufficient information to determine a consistent level of thoughtfulness throughout all stays. Therefore, the score is set to null, and it should be noted that such gestures are not guaranteed.

We felt that some small touches could improve the score, like providing extra bin bags, washing up liquid and toilet rolls. Cleanliness could have been slightly better, but overall it was clean. We had to leave on the Thursday as to be out for 9.30am on the Friday would have been a rush, and you don't want to be rushing around on your holidays. Overall a comfortable apartment, and an enjoyable stay.

It was not up to standard what I paid for. It said 8 people sleep and there was sofa bed in living room but there was not a sofa bed either duvet, to be honest there were some spare pillows. When I checked in, it was already late and I had to sleep with my jacket first night on the sofa, I called the other day and asked them to bring a duvet. Location: think about location, it is not that convenient place, we just finished in one day to visit all area there and we have to drive away at least 1-2 hours to see the other places.

The house was clean and as advertised. A few minor points could do with improvement though. 1. No spare loo roll!! 2. The oven hob knobs need replacing as the numbers have all rubbed off. 3. The bunk beds move and squeak when the occupants turn over etc. which meant our two boys didn’t get the best night sleep - we could hear the squeaking in our room too!! 4. More of a personal preference, the mattress on the double bed in the garden room was very soft and springy and no good if you suffer from a bad back like I do. That said, we had a great weekend and the place was suitable for our needs for a short break (2 adults and 3 teenage boys). A ‘welcome pack’ of goodies, like we’ve had in previous Sykes Cottages, would have been a nice touch! So, a few areas for improvement (given the price!), but on the whole an enjoyable weekend!
