About this property

Set in the lakeside town of Bala in Snowdonia National Park, this beautiful barn conversion blends original features with contemporary comforts for a truly delightful stay. Located a stone’s throw from Lake Tegid, the largest natural lake in Wales, this inviting retreat is ideal for couples and solo adventurers who love the great outdoors. After adventure-filled days walking in the mountains and enjoying water sports on the lake, this cosy cottage is the ideal place to rest and recharge.

Lovingly renovated, this two-storey barn conversion exudes warmth and character. Wooden beams and upcycled farm equipment add rustic charm, while stylish furniture and underfloor heating ensure it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Compact and thoughtfully designed, the kitchen is well equipped to prepare delicious home-cooked fare. Romantic meals can be savoured on the dining table for two or at the bistro table on your private patio. Then snuggle up on the plush sofas for a cosy night in. Upstairs, a charming super-king-size bedroom ensures a restful night’s sleep, and the contemporary bathroom allows you to refresh with ease.

Stroll to the lakeside cafes for morning coffee with a view, then lace up your walking boots and take to the trails. Paths include town and heritage trails, as well as a stroll around the lake; the narrow-gauge Bala Lake Railway covers part of its southern shore. If you love messing about on the water, there are a range of options from fishing, canoeing and kayaking to sailing and windsurfing. Serious walkers will love the challenge of climbing Snowdonia (Yr Wyddfa) (19 miles). If you fancy something a little more gentle, hop on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which runs between April and October.

We had a lovely stay, cottage was beautifully presented, very cosy, host checked in that all was well, good selection of shops within walking distance, we will definitely be retuning!

Great space, new, fresh and has everything you could need. We worked from there for 3 days and the wifi held up enough for both of us to be on separate calls. The dressing table had a TV next to it which had HDMI ports, so it was perfect! 60 seconds from a Co-op, fuel, and the best craft beer bar.
