Brynkir Tower offers a unique and memorable stay, with guests praising its impressive structure, peacefulness, and stunning views. The property's character and location make it an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia. While the stairs present a challenge, they add to the tower's charm. The lack of mobile signal and WiFi is noted, but for many, it enhances the secluded experience.
The property is generally well-regarded for cleanliness, with guests finding it to be tidy upon arrival. However, some guests noted the presence of cobwebs and spiders, suggesting room for improvement in detailed cleaning.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with easy access to local attractions like Portmeirion and Criccieth beach. The secluded nature and proximity to nature walks contribute to its high rating.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the living spaces cosy, particularly with the woodburner. However, some guests mentioned squeaky beds and the challenge of steep stairs, which could affect comfort for those with mobility issues.
The tower is equipped with essential amenities, and guests love features like the posh bath. Criticisms include outdated kitchen facilities, lack of mobile signal, and the need for clearer signage and information on local amenities. The steep access track and stairs are also noted.
While some guests appreciated the welcome gifts such as cake and milk, there is not enough consistent mention of such gestures across the reviews to accurately assess the thoughtfulness category. Therefore, this score is set to null.
Brynkir Tower is a historic gothic folly perfect for a romantic getaway, located in the Eryri National Park.
Built in 1821 to commemorate the knighthood of King George IV, the 20-metre-high tower has been thoughtfully-renovated using traditional materials after previously falling into disrepair, shedding off years of gothic decay to now exude a warm, welcoming atmosphere complete with elegant and inviting interiors that serve to provide a true castle feel!

There is a double bedroom with a splendid brass bed is followed by a twin-bedded room. The bathroom is located on the fifth floor and is complete with a cast iron roll-top bath where you can lie back, relax and watch the tree tops - sheer bliss!
An internal spiral stone staircase leads you to each of the six rooms, with the sitting room at the top. Situated right in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park there is so much variety here. Make sure you’ve packed your walking boots to tackle a walk up Snowdon (the highest mountain in Wales) or take the easier option of the train! The park has so much to offer everyone from stunning mountain walks, picturesque villages such as Beddgelert and an easy drive to lovely seaside towns like Criccieth. This is a unique property in a great location!

The property is so unique and such a treat for our honeymoon. The milk and Welsh cakes were a lovely touch but we're both vegan which is why we left them (we felt a bit rude so wanted to mention it). As previously mentioned in reviews, the property could do with updating and refreshing a bit (especially the sofa which is a bit small and not very comfy). Even though I knew there were a lot of stairs, you do need to be fairly fit to stay here, especially if you're going from the kitchen up to the living room. I certainly got my steps in this week! The iron and washer were very welcomed, but I only found the instructions for the washing machine after I spent ages trying to find them online with sketchy Internet connection. They could probably do to be left on the washer, rather than in a drawer. On the whole, we had a really lovely time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone (fitness/mobility depending).
