To see a village like no other, drive a little further north to the quirky, Italian-like Portmeirion, created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976, home to cafés, shops and wonderful walks through woodland and along the coast. Tal-Y-Bont is a coastal community in the Snowdonia National Park, located to the north of the tourist town of Barmouth. There are excellent walking and cycling paths nearby, promising an excellent base for exploring a wonderful coastal area of Wales, with the mountains of Snowdonia within reach.
