About this property

My Happy Place!Tafarn Trip is a simple and rustic holiday cottage situated in the heart of Eryri National Park, Snowdonia, in the quaint village of Tan-y-Bwlch, Gwynedd. Its not far from Tan y Bwlch Railways station of the Ffestiniog narrow gauge fame. 2 Lovely lakes are a nice walk away too,. With a serene lake gracing the front garden and convenient off-road parking for one car, it's an ideal retreat for families or groups of friends. Stepping inside, you will be greeted by the warmth of the woodburning stove set within a large inglenook fireplace and the exposed wooden beams giving the property a nice historic feel. Take the weight off your feet and let the day's adventures melt away as you plan what adventures are up next. The kitchen/diner, boasting Welsh slate floors, is fully equipped to cater to your culinary needs, whether it's a hearty breakfast or a sumptuous dinner. Climb the stone-turned staircase to find three well-presented bedrooms where you can catch your rest. Choose from an inviting double room, a second double room adorned with charming wooden panelling, or a nice single room, all offering a tranquil retreat after a day of exploration. The property benefits from a neat green-panelled bathroom, perfect for a relaxing soak. Additionally, there is a separate ground-floor shower room featuring a walk-in shower, providing ample space for everyone to prepare for the day ahead. Outside, the enclosed front garden, complete with meadow and furniture, provides a serene spot for alfresco dining or a morning coffee. At the end of the garden, you will find a tranquil lake, where a row boat awaits for those seeking a little adventure. The front garden features an excellent wildflower meadow which thrives in the summer! Avid walkers will be delighted as there are wonderful walking spots right from the front door with bats and birds abound! The setting also means there are fantastic fungi and mosses as well as being sat in a "Dark Sky" location which makes for an excellent evening of stargazing. A short walk will take you to another nearby lake, Hafod y Llyn, which is a great pot for a bit of wild swimming or even getting the kayak out. You will also be a very short drive from Ffestiniog Railway Station which is a great spot to watch the trains and you can even enjoy the restaurant that's there. Even better, you can hear the trains going up and down from your garden which adds to the serene atmosphere. Even more adventures await in the mountains at the Rhinogs, the Moelwyns and Knicht all within a short drive, and fantastic beaches in Harlech and Borth y Gest.

The small hamlet of Tan Y Bwlch sits in the green rolling hills of Snowdonia, half a mile from the village of Maentwrog. Nearby is Blaenau Ffestiniog, known as The Town that Roofed the World due to its slate quarrying, offering a range of shops and pubs, whilst the surrounding area boasts a variety of attractions. Take a tour around Llechwedd Slate Cavern, enjoy a ride on the famous Ffestiniog Railway or simply enjoy some time admiring the stunning mountainous views available from all aspects. With excellent walking and cycling, plus wonderful sandy beaches, great fishing, many delightful towns and villages scattered throughout the area, and the beautiful Vale of Ffestiniog and Cynfal Waterfalls to the west, this lovely location has something for everyone, at any time of year!
