After dinner, retire to the sitting room, where you can relax and unwind in front of the TV. Outside, Hill View offers a non-enclosed front patio, perfect for soaking up the sun on warmer days. The lawn area provides a safe space for your four-legged friend to roam, while the picnic bench is ideal for alfresco dining or simply enjoying a morning coffee while planning the day's activities. Beyond Hill View's welcoming abode lies a treasure trove of attractions and activities for all tastes. Start your adventures at the nearby Aberdyfi Beach, one of Wales' finest, where the sound of lapping waves will melt your worries away. Immerse yourself in history with a visit to the ruins of the medieval Cymer Abbey, offering an insightful peek into the past. Take a break to sample Dolgellau's culinary delights at the Royal Ship, boasting an array of mouth-watering dishes, and be sure to stop by TH Roberts, a unique café nestled within an old ironmongery shop, ideal for a midday treat. Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts alike will delight in a trip to the Dyfi Osprey Project, a dedicated reserve hosting several endangered bird species, while the rugged beauty of Cors Dyfi, a mystical peat bog and haven for wildlife, will take your breath away. Whatever your interests, Hill View serves as the perfect base to explore the best that Gwynedd has to offer.

The pretty, historic Cornish village of Tywardreath, meaning ‘The House on the Strand’, lies in the heart of Daphne du Maurier country and features in her book of the same name. St Andrew’s, the village church, is said to have the best peal of bells in the area, while the village has a lively community, centred round its excellent pubs and range of shops. There are several safe, sandy beaches close to the village, with a variety of watersports and leisure activities available. Par, a small, china clay port with a dog friendly sandy beach is a fifteen minute walk from the village or 5 minutes in the car, home to a main line railway station. Polkerris Beach, a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away, has a beachside restaurant, pub and watersports centre. The attractive waterside village of Fowey is just three miles away, from where there are some dramatic cliff walks to Gribbin Head, passing through much of du Maurier’s familiar landscape. There are many family attractions in the area, including Mevagissey and Charlestown harbours, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Tywardreath is a village that will appeal to families and those keen to explore the rich heritage and gorgeous coastline of South Cornwall.
