About this property

Tucked away on the Glamorgan Heritage Coastline and surrounded by countryside sits this stylish two-bedroom lodge. It’s a great choice for a couple or small family plus one dog wanting tranquillity, long coastal walks, and easy access to the beach.

Steps take you up to the front of this stylish lodge and inside natural tones and elegant decor create a welcoming atmosphere. Kick-off shoes and take it easy in the lounge with a good book, or light the wood burner and snuggle up on the sofa with a film on the TV. When it’s time to eat a neat kitchen overlooks the lounge so you can whip up a meal and still be part of the conversation. Dine at the table seating four people and if the weather is good, push open the French doors and let the fresh air breeze in. The bedrooms are located off from the living area, and come slumber time you can choose between two lovely king-size beds. Both are generously sized and beautifully furnished with bedside tables, ornate mirrors, and sumptuous furnishings. In the morning, feel your spirits lift as you step out onto the terrace and enjoy breakfast at the table. Children will also love playing on the lawn shared with the neighbouring lodge (Monks Rest).

Take the tree-lined track down to Monknash Beach (1 mile) and enjoy feeling the sand between toes and paws. The beach is a tranquil spot with waterfalls, rock pools, and peregrine falcons nesting on the cliffs. From Monknash, keen walkers can enjoy the Glamorgan Heritage Coastal Trail that runs 10 miles west to Newton and 9 miles east to Aberthaw. After a day of activity, head back to Monknash and stop for a drink and meal at the friendly, local pub.

Our Christmas at the lodge was simply wonderful. The lodge is an extremely high standard, very warm and cozy and beautiful. The hosts are very helpful and left us a nice Christmas bottle and mince pies. The location is brilliant within walking distance from a traditional award winning pub and a wild and interesting beach. We will definitely return in 2024.
