Great little holiday flat perfectly positioned for exploring beautiful Hornsea and surrounding area.
Came here with my puppy to avoid the fireworks at home but was dismayed to find a firework display planned in the nearby park. However the lovely people of Hornsea were using silent fireworks, so we had a peaceful night. The flat was clean, with a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofa and bed. Nice tidy little yard accessed from the kitchen to let the dog out. No problem parking. Tea, milk and dog treats on arrival, and owner Phil kept in touch to make sure everything was OK and speedily delivered some missing washing up bits. Plenty of coat hangers, up to date telly, decent sized towels and a lap tray ( not present in a lot of places Iâve stayed) The under staircase cupboard was brilliant for storage of coats, leads and boots. I would have liked a footstool and some info about the bins would be handy but we had everything we needed. I expected road noise and even though there was resurfacing work on the road outside (until 11pm!!) and we could hear the upstairs neighbours at times I had the best nights sleep Iâve had in ages ( must have been all the sea air and walking !! ) The beach and the mere are in walking distance. And the pup loved the many walkies and socialising with all the dogs on the front. Iâve visited this area many times and I love it. Thankyou for another fantastic holiday

We were very disappointed with the bed - it was cheap and with no support -extremely uncomfortable- I spent 2 nights on the couch!
!! The shower was just a light dribble and fine spray - the sink in the bathroom was disappointingly tiny when there was a lot of space. Also there was room for a towel rail to help air towels -preferably a heated one. We were pleased that the view was good and kitchen equipment was adequate - thank you for dishwashing soap - but perhaps you could provide an extra toilet roll so guests donât have to go out and buy a pack of 4 when just needed half a roll more. The next people should have a spare in the cupboard anyway now.. We couldnât find anywhere that you told us to bring towels - luckily on ringing the local rep we were provided with some. But asking people to bring their own towels these days when you have to have a laundry service for sheets seems out dated and difficult if youâre travelling by pubic transport - especially as they would have been damp and heavy going home. The bed was the thing that spoilt it the most sadly and will be the reason we do not use Sykes again.â¹ï¸

Had a nice stay with my dog but it's a studio not a one bed apartment.
Not much room between bed and table so have lovely bruises on my thigh thanks to the bedpost corner. Flooded the bathroom as no instructions left as to which tap worked which shower head. Could have done with an eye mask as the overhead light was on from dusk till dawn and the blinds aren't blackout ones. Read other reviews and took a digital indoor aerial with me which I stuck to the window. TV worked as normal after retuning to aerial setting otherwise you have to sign in to each app. The instructions were there for the TV but they didn't work as previous occupants had attached It to a laptop and not reset it. It was well equipped and short walk to shops and bus station and across the road from The Spa. Sam the caretaker was lovely. She sorted the problem I had with the central heating but then it had problems again. Only there 4 nights and it was warm anyway so didn't bother her again. Wouldn't stay again though.

Holly Farm Cottage exceeded all our expectations.
We booked fairly last minute and were lucky enough to find the property free for a few nights a week before Easter. Itâs an extremely comfortable and well equipped cottage with everything you need. The beds are some of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. There is plenty of sofa space which made it really relaxing in the lounge with the log fire and smart tv. When we did manage to tear ourselves away from the cottage we really enjoyed days out in Sewerby and Beverley and had a lovely walk across the cliffs of Bempton. We recommend a drive out to Cayton to visit the Farrier with some of the best gastro pub grub weâve ever had. Check in and check out was simple and the welcome hamper was so generous. Although Sharon was very responsive via text we didnât need to contact her at all during our stay because everything was perfect. Highly recommended to all!
