This small house is pleasant, reasonably well furnished and best of all, in a quiet country location; a bit of a ghost village actually, and a mile inland from the sea in Aberporth.
It lies in the grounds of an expensive hotel where drinks at the bar might require a mortgage ! Unfortunately, when we arrived, a wheelie bin at the front door was overflowing with 6 or 7 weeks of rubbish stinking like a garbage dump. We complained and it was emptied 5 days later. Arriving after a 3 hour 30 minute drive to the property, we needed the loo. There was no toilet paper or kitchen roll provided. We complained and were directed to a shop which was a drive of 7 miles return. We had to buy our own loo paper and even our own salt and pepper. There were none of the normal âhospitalityâ items - a few tea bags, coffee sachets, milk or anything else. Better introductory hospitality would only cost a pound or two. On day 1 the bathroom door jammed & could not be opened. The door lever/latch was not working. We spent 5 minutes crashing into the door to open it. Finally it gave way without damage. Since we could also have been locked into the bathroom, we stuffed a toothpick into the latch to keep it open until it is repaired. The availability of an adequate wifi signal was sporadic and slow. We could not use the catch-up TV and during the whole week I could only open my emails on my mobile phone. When it is working the internet speed is 29 Mbps. The property was devoid of instructions on e.g. the television or heating system, or when the rubbish is collected. There were no recommendations on local walks, shops or restaurants etc. (Tesco/Aldi in Cardigan). We like to keep a holiday let very clean, but there were no cleaning materials supplied. The good news is that following previous poor reviews the double bed mattress (firm) and the microwave have been replaced. Unfortunately when I removed the instructions from inside this new microwave in order to use it, they slipped down between the side of the fridge and the worktop. This does not prevent the microwave being used. Since the freezer compartment needs defrosting, when the fridge is turned off to do this, they can be retrieved. (Incidentally, when I logged in to the Sykes website, this property was not registered on my account, although 7 or 8 previous ones are still there).

From the minute we arrived at Dolly we were enchanted.
The weather was not good all week however we were there to relax. Dolly had everything required to acheive this. The woodburner made the van warm and cosy and the inital supply of logs was most welcome we had also brought our own. Books and games are supplied too. The kitchen is well equipped and on arrival it was a nice surprise to find a complementary fine selection of local goodies and treats for our bedlington terrier Barney. The bed was so comfortable and the linen sheets and duvet cover were delightful. The bathroom is in a seperate building a few steps outside but dont let that put you off, it was warm, clean, and modern . On days when it is dry there is a private sitting out area and a ring to tether hounds to as this is a farming area. The owners were welcoming and responsive. Dolly is set down a quite county lane with ample parking available. A half mile walk along the main road will find you at a local pub which brews beer and makes excellent pizza. Just a 3 mile stride to the coast gives you another pleasant walk, again with a pub to supply refreshments. On the one dry day we went to New Quay, a short drive away and we were rewarded with the sight of dolphins playing just off the harbour, which was a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this accommodation for comfort, location and the effort the owners put in to make guests feel relaxed and welcome. Helen , Alwyn and Barney Bedlington

This has been our best holiday ever.
Every picture the summary of the bungalow does not do it justice. The maintenance of the property is top notch and so are the grounds. The pool is disabled friendly it has steps and is lovely and warm. Both pool and hot tub is tested daily this gives peace of mind. There is a Sunday car boot right opposite the lane if you like car boots!!.Claire and Jamie are brilliant nothing is to much. Itâs like going to far flung heaven then you leave and come back down to earth. The beaches in the are safe and dog friendly and so is the bungalow with a dog field which is secure. The towns do operate Sunday closure and half day Wednesday. There are loads of big supermarkets close by. This place is amazing and if. you want a relaxing holiday this is the place,and totally disabled friendly and a full working kitchen.

We booked Sea Rose for 3 nights with our baby as a weekend away, but sadly we arrived at the property to find the heating off so it was freezing cold and took a while to warm up.
The kitchen was dirty with unwashed coffee cups, an old dirty kettle and dirty oven. Unfortunately, the property wasnât overly clean anywhere else and when we pulled out the highchair to use it too needed a good clean. The lack of any welcome pack made using the appliances difficult and we couldnât access the wifi, although it barely ran the tv so probably wouldnât have managed our phones as well. The bathroom door didnât close which didnât matter to us but should probably be fixed. The saving grace was the location, just 5 minutes outside of Aberporth, which had a gorgeous beach, great fish and chips, and a lovely pub! We wonât be booking this cottage again sadly and actually ended up leaving after 2 nights.
