What our customers say about their holidays

We had a lovely stay at Sunnymead, and wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend it to other users. It’s very well equipped, and clear that the owners wanted to make sure things are done properly. We were also both surprised and delighted to find little things like the fact they had left some milk and cookies waiting for us – a lovely and helpful surprise when we had been driving for seven hours… The beds are very comfortable, and the street is quiet. We made use of the car park for the week (only a minute’s walk away) which we found very cheap, and using the RingGo service meant we could set it up at the start of our break and then forget about it… There are decent pubs within walking distance. We had an issue with the plumbing in the bathroom, and once brought to the owner’s attention they had a plumber here in less than an hour who sorted it in about 15 minutes. You really can’t knock that sort of attitude – it’s clear you’re dealing with people who want to do things properly… We found lots of things to do around the North Devon area – Woolacombe, Instow and Ilfracombe perhaps being our highlights from a beach for the children point of view.

We had a fantastic long weekend at Priory House.

The house is beautiful & the facilities amazing! The bedrooms are really comfortable as are the lounge areas. Once we got the sound system working it was brilliant to have to create atmosphere for our weekend. The games room was a brilliant even for an all adult party! We had some good completion going on our final night. The only slight negatives we found were the size of the oven for the size of the house. It would benefit from 2 ovens particularly when the property can sleep up to 20 with the cottage. We were also expecting a hot tub but after 4 hours of tending to it we only managed luke warm. That said I did realise the paper work described it as a wood fired Dutch bath (no mention of hot) it would also benefit from steps up to it. We did use the small step ladder in the utility but I’m not sure if that was what we were supposed to do? Finally Phil the Estate Manager communicated brilliantly both prior to our stay and during our stay. He was really responsive to any questions we had and nothing was to much trouble! Thank you…I hope we will be back

We loved staying at Sunnymeade. It worked really well for our whole family. We found the whole property to be really clean, really well equipped and very homely. The garden was particularly beautiful. And even though we didn’t get to use it too much because of the rain, we really enjoyed seeing all the wildflowers and exploring the summer house. It was great that the house was equipped with all of the things we needed for a littlest one and our dog. We made good use of the pack away cot, high chair, and doggy bowls. The local area had a spar where we could buy the bits and bobs we needed in the parking space outside was easy to access and always clear. The local area had some nice places to walk a dog - we went to Instow a few times; and then also drove further afield to beaches like Saunton Sands. Overall we think this property was brilliant value for money and a really nice stay - thanks so much!

Due to our original holiday being cancelled less than 2 hours before we were due to arrive we where booked into Valley View instead.

Given the short time we were really impressed with the cottage and even the little gifts on arrival. The cottage is beautiful with amazing views. We struggled with Wi-Fi signal being the last cottage however this didn't cause too much of a problem. It would be good to have a welcome pack that explained about the area, processes in the cottage regarding recycling as they are a lot different from where we live, what to do when leaving and where to park (parking maybe something that is explained when you book far in advance however with such short notice we were confused about where to leave our car). We also loved being able to say hello to the pigs every morning. A book would also be helpful so we could have written a thank you message.

We booked just 3 days before arrival and received all of the arrival details including a phone call from the owners which were clear and helpful. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome and a well needed plate of scones and cream. The cottage is beautiful and very well laid out. As a family with 2 teenage boys we all had enough space and we had everything we needed there including an en suite in each of the bedrooms which were really useful too. The cottage was cosy in the evenings and has privacy in the courtyard area for alfresco dining/ breakfast etc. Location was good and allowed easy access to lots of areas to explore further afield on the local road networks. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back again.
