What our customers say about their holidays

      Where can we start!

What a wonderful break and a beautiful cottage over looking the rolling hills of Parkham. We have 3 young children (6 and 8 year old twins) and they loved the farm and the waking up the the sheep on the fields beside the cottage. The two chickens are child friendly and the children loved holding and feeding them. Most of all Susan and Tom (or as our children referred to him as Farmer Tom) were amazing with the children and always on hand for help or advice on things to do on a rainy day. You could not get anyone better than them. A few nights where rather cold so we lit the fire and listened to the peace and quite outside. If you get lost on route google map it and drop a pin this is the easiest way to find the cottage. We will definitely look to return here as it was so peaceful and beautiful. Also a great location for the busier places such at Bideford and Westward Ho. Thanks again to Tom and Susan for such a memorable holiday.

Just returned from a weeks break at Bank Hall Farm.

A lovely farm cottage in a delightful setting, nestling in a valley next to the river Yeo. It was comfortable, warm and so, so quiet. The only sounds to be heard are sheep and chickens! The cottage is surrounded by rolling farmland views and is just the ticket for a peaceful break away. On arriving at the cottage, we found a cream tea waiting for us, which nicely puts you in the mood for a Devon holiday. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The farm owner is a keen fisherman and on our departure he presented is with a 1.2kg river trout - delicious! Sadly we weren't blessed with the best of weather, but we found lots of places to visit (the Harltand peninsula is beautiful!) and Bude is a lovely, classical seaside town. And the pasties!! There's a big retail park approximately 15 minutes away with everything you could possibly need, including the cheapest fuel for miles. Thoroughly recommended.

What can I say, a fantastic little hideaway in the beautiful rolling hills of north devon.

The drive there is a bit tricky so follow the directions you receive from the owner. But once we arrived we were very happy with the beautiful little cottage on the side of the owners own home. We hardly saw them but when we did we found them lovely and friendly. We even had warm scones and jam waiting for us on our arrival. The cottage is lovely and clean with everything you need, with a large inglenook fireplace which is a god send on a chilli night. The pub is a 20min walk away but be warned its up a steep hill thats tricky in the dark. however once there the landlady was so lovely she even gave us a lift back. (the bell inn). I would say there is zero phone signal and wi fi only in one spot in the cottage so prepare to be cut off from the world for a while. which we found delightful. This is a working farm with chickens and sheep. we found it lovely and would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from it all.

Absolutely perfect and exactly what I was looking for.

I stayed at the Cider House for a week on my own, a bit of a solo retreat as I wanted somewhere peaceful I could just relax and swim. The cottage itself is gorgeous, so cosy and full of quirks, also incredibly spacious with everything you could need/want in the kitchen. The bed and bedding were some of the comfiest I’ve ever slept on :) Having access to the pool was dreamy - it’s shared with the other cottage residents but generally had it to myself when I wanted to swim (several times a day) and was wonderful to be able swim with farm animals all around! Location was great too - felt very rural and peaceful but literally 3-4 minutes from a big Tesco and only a few mins more to the town of Bideford and also a great location for exploring Devon, and has the gigantic beach at Westward Ho! under 10 mins drive away. Family fun farm and everybody was so friendly and helpful, quick to respond etc. All in all 10/10!

Such a beautiful property in such a beautiful place, the views were stunning.

Mr and Mrs Hunt were so friendly and very kindly put out the sheep for the children to enjoy. They also left some lovely scones, cream and jam on our arrival day. The property was very clean and well looked after, the master bedroom mattress was very comfy much better than ours at home. We loved the traditional vibe of the property, it was very homely and made us feel very happy. It was the perfect holiday cottage for us, close to Bideford and all the tourist destinations such as appledore, Saunton beach and Lynton and Lynmouth a bit further along the coast. The wi-fi was fairly good and it was nice to not have phone signal and be non contactable from the outside world. We would definitely stay again at this property, hopefully next year if I can get the right time off. Thank you Mr and Mrs Hunt, we all loved the cottage and hope to be back in the near future.
