This property is cold, damp a dirty.

The advertised 'open fire' is out of use with the chimney stuffed with newspapers. The kitchen is greasy with dirty glasses and utencils. Dampness and damp smell everywhere. Wi dows running with water/dampness all the time. Grubby bathroom with black grime in shower area. Broken blinds inside the wardrobe. Dead bugs and dust behind beds. Whole property would benefit from deep clean. Baby's milky bottle top inside sittingroom cupboard. Dead bugs and debris under sitting room furniture. We are all very unwell due to staying in this horrendous property. Dehumidifier units throughout the property so the owners are aware of the damp issue quite clearly. We arrived Friday evening and Sykes Cottages were notified of concerns at 9.30am Saturday. Morning. We called Sykes again on Saturday afternoon but still no help. We finally received a call from Sykes on Sunday afternoon by which time we are all in bed ill. This cottage has made my family very ill not to mention the loss of a week's holiday. This is a DISGRACE!!!

Lovely cottage with everything you need.

But, we requested a stair gate as had 2 toddlers. Yes, a stair gate was provided but it did not fit at the bottom or the top of the stairs, making it as useful as the proverbial chocolate fireguard! Making our stay much less relaxing. Can I suggest retractable gates at the top AND bottom of the stairs which can remain in place and be used as required, widely available at Amazon or Argos. Also, the central heating would run quietly then would suddenly sound like a train running through the house for long periods of time. Otherwise all good

Greystones is a lovely cottage and is well furnished.

Cleanliness and general maintenance should be improved. There was a layer of dust on the lamps, the top of a baby bottle was left in a cupboard. The windows at the front are desperately in need of both cleaning and maintenance. The old broken bedroom window blind was left in the wardrobe. We received a visit from the TV licensing folk advising that there was no TV licence for the property. Also, they have not complied with the Scottish Government legislation for holiday lets to have PAT testing of all electrical appliances.

      The cottage was fine.

The beds were comfy and it had a nice lounge to relax in. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessary equipment and appliances but the dining area was quite cramped. We parked on the streets at either side of the cottage and was able to park quite near apart from once. There were a lot of notices about the place. Crieff is near some stunning scenery with the trip to Pitlochry particularly lovely.

The stay was good, however my car, which was correctly parked in the street and not blocking any drives, was interfered with on the last two nights of our stay.

Both door mirrors, which were parked folded in, were pulled open, the rear wiper was pulled from the screen, a tyre dust cap was removed and the tyre partially deflated. I checked the other nearby parked cars but none appeared to be interfered with. It appears that my car was targeted, possibly by someone thinking it shouldn't have been parked there.

    Drummond Gardens

One of Scotland's most significant and magnificent formal gardens is Drummond Castle Gardens. It was built in the 17th century and is situated in Perthshire close to Crieff. In the 19th century, the gardens underwent a renovation and were terraced. The formal gardens you see today were recreated in the 1950s, but many of the original elements have been preserved, including the old yew hedges and the last beech tree Queen Victoria planted to remember her visit in 1842. Car park, accessible routes, refreshments, dog friendly.

    The Glenturret Distillery

The Glenturret Distillery is Scotland's oldest working distillery. Glenturret whiskey is still traditionally crafted by hand, as it was over 250 years ago. Several tours and tasting sessions available at the distillery. Shop, cafe, and Lalique Boutique Michelin starred restaurant. Free parking and WI-FI.
