Fantastic stay at Granary 1.
Would definitely recommend. The hosts Kate and Jonathan were very welcoming. We had waiting a basket of goodies, fresh flowers, fruit and Kate brought over some freshly made Bara-Brith (absolutely delicious!). One of the days we even got to try some Greengages from the garden and Jonathan even gave us some home grown vegetables which I made a lovely meal with. We went on some day trips to Hereford and Hay-on-Wye using the cottage as a base. There are a number of places to visit within a 30min drive and we found some great places to have lunch and walk. The cottage is a perfect location and very quiet but accessible. Just what we wanted for our stay. Its very modern and clean with a lot of outside space. The town is a short walk away, where there is a local shop, fish and chip shop and pub. We had our one year old with us and he had a lot of fun playing outside and seeing the sheep and the chickens. The cottage is child friendly and a cot was set up when we arrived. I wish we could have stayed a few more days! The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break. The hosts were really kind and thoughtful and made the break even nicer for us. We will definitely go back to stay.

The Granary is a little gem.
It is spotlessly tidy and clean and perfect for a short or longer break. We have returned a number of times to Granary 1 and Granary 2. We have only stayed in the Autumn and Winter but Iâm sure that it is even more splendid in the Spring and Summer. Kate and Jonathan are very attentive and so welcoming. We were overwhelmed by our arrival basket, filled with cheese, artisan bread, crisps and chocolate. There was also a fabulous bowl of fruit and a vase of beautiful roses. Our little dog loved his holiday and was also showered with doggy treats and kindness. The Granary is a great base for exploring north Herefordshire and south Shropshire, with Hereford, Hay on Wye and Ludlow a short drive away. The Welsh border is close too. Kate and Jonathan were very helpful recommending places to visit, including Lockâs Garage, again a short distance away, called, âThe Fortnum and Masons of the Bordersâ, for its array of fruit, veg and meat, not to mention the ice cream. Local farm shops are âout of this worldâ and the kitchen is well stocked with pans and utensils if you want to cook. There are lots of lovely places to eat and pub in the village if you want to go out.

We had a wonderful time at The Granary 1.
Kate & Jonathan were pleasant and the building is beautifully done. Good parking facilities and a brilliant medium sized paddock next to the property for letting the dogs run loose. Plenty of dog walks around Hereford, particularly along the River Wye early in the morning and late evening were ideal as it was extremely hot during our stay. There are also plenty of towns within travelling distance by car from the property which made the stay more enhoyable, there are also a few good National Trust sites too. The welome hamper was great too, a fresh pint of milk in the fridge when we arrived, and the hamper included, a loaf, chocolate, biscuits and a large bag of crisps to share, along with a welcome note from Kate & Jonathan which also provided the Wi-Fi Code. The biggest plus, is Kate & Jonathan are very dog friendly and we have two very tired terriers after their stay. Thank you for providing a great place to stay, hope we come back some day.

Wow, what can I say about The Granaries?
It was amazing. We arrived and were met by Kate, who welcomed us and our dog, showed us around, including a welcome basket of tea, coffee, milk, fresh ciabatta loaf, brie, cheese and sparkling water. A lovely surprise and enabled us to settle straight in without having to run to the shops. Kate and Jonathan were a joy , they checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed, had information and advice on where to go and what to see. They also have us some home grown produce, which was in season, and baked us a cake! They could not have made us feel more welcome. The conversion has been done beautifully and to a high standard, and was comfortable and clean. Locally, it's a quick walk into the village, which had a corner shop and a couple of pubs. The Red Lion was really friendly and we had a good dinner there one night. Basic pub grub, but done well. Overall, had a really relaxing break and would happily recommend and visit agsin. Thanks

What a lovely cottage this is!
Granary 1 is very peaceful, homely, comfortable, spotlessly clean with welcoming flowers and plants on the doorstep. Kate loves animals and our little dogs enjoyed the treats and the freedom of the adjoining field. It was lovely to step out there first thing in the morning and in the evening. We even saw a big owl sitting on our car on our first evening; priceless! Above all, thank you Kate and Jonathan for being such kind hosts, for all the lovely food, goodies and beautiful roses on arrival, the delicious homemade Bara brith and other yummy surprises. Herefordshire is a beautiful county. What struck us most was the numerous sweet scented wild flower meadows full of buzzing insects and butterflies. We did many long walks (Hay, the Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny, the White Castle, Bredwardine, Mordiford and Haugh Woods with a natural butterfly reserve), all in beautiful weather. We definitely recommend the Granary.
