Had a truly memorable stay at â The Ingleâ which was definitely enhanced by beautiful warm weather for our entire stay.
The description was accurate so no surprises when we arrived. It is very tiny but the space available has been utilised well, and yes, the stairs are steep but you soon get used to them. Good shower and plenty of towels. Lovely comfy bed with fantastic views. The integral fridge is floor standing and the capacity is very minimal so I found it frustrating to use so just to be aware of this and also general storage space is mainly non existent. There is only one spotlight in the shower room and one evening as I put it on, it popped and fused the upstairs lighting circuit. I contacted Jo, the housekeeper, who was very helpful and managed to find out for us the location of the fuse box, and, after finding a spare bulb in the kitchen cupboard, we were back up and running again. It was Summer Bank Holiday during our stay so extremely busy in the town but so nice to escape the crowds and get back to The Ingle for some peace and tranquility and âthose viewsâ The walks uphill from the back of the cottage were great with lots of options, also the ferry boat across to Fairbourne but just being there was a tonic in itself. No more to be said as the views say it all!!

We have just got back after a wonderful 4 nights away at Garreg Ddu with our two dogs.
We couldnât have felt more welcome, the goodies were appreciated by both the humans and the dogs. Caroline had excellent communication with us before and throughout our stay and sent us loads of recommendations of places to visit and eat before we arrived which was much appreciated. Thereâs even a parking permit you can use which came in very handy. The cottage is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, warm, cozy and really spacious - the pictures donât do it justice. The bed was super comfy and even had an electric blanket. Everything you could possibly need is provided and is very dog friendly! The garden is very secure which is always a worry for us with large dogs who can jump. The house is in a great location, walking distance to a few shops but very quiet and parking was easy. Overall, the nicest cottage we have stayed in over the years - a real home away from home, our only complaint is that we didnât stay longer! Thankyou for a perfect few days away and hope to return soon.

Perfect in every way!
I booked this cottage without paying much attention to where, in Wales, it was! My main priority was having an enclosed garden in a place we could relax in and take our two dogs. Coed y Glyn proved to be this.. and so much more. Set in beautiful countryside with a warm village feel, we enjoyed it all immensely and Llanuwchylin station was amazing - like stepping back in time. Definitely worth booking a trip up to Bala. The village also has a lovely pub, y Eagle, with fabulous food which also served as a village shop. The staff were lovely and helpful when we initially couldnât find anywhere to sit (booking strongly recommended) The cottage itself is warm, comfy and very well fitted out. The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Not that we needed anything, but we felt we could just âaskâ at any time. Sadly our 4 day visit was over too quickly so we will just HAVE to return.

We had a fabulous stay at Garreg Ddu.
One of or maybe even possibly one of the best cottages weâve stayed in! The owner, Caroline has put everything you need into the cottage and her dedication to making sure you have an enjoyable stay is evident. The communication from Caroline before you stay is excellent and all questions she answers with her information sheets that are in the house and emailed prior to your stay. She even includes a parking disc that you can use in some local council operated car parks which saved us a small fortune in car parking charges. The garden is ideal for dogs as itâs very secure. The location of the cottage is quiet but very close to all the village amenities and an ideal base for Snowdonia. Thanks for allowing us to stay and bring our dogs. The little doggie extras (poo bags, throws, treats etc is an excellent touch) and the traditional Bara Brith was very much enjoyed by the humans!

Quirky little cottage in an outstanding position with the most amazing view but it has a few niggles (see other reviews) which are not being addressed.
The shower does not drain properly, the tiny, tiny basin in the bathroom is totally inadequate, and alternative directions for access really should be given as the path closure has gone on for months. The steps access (133 of them in several short flights) is via St George's Lane (opposite The Tilman) - keep going up, past the benches, and just after the sandbags look for a narrow almost-hidden path to the left, in front of two cottages, The Ingle is just beyond these cottages. The accommodation is small but it is comfortable and well-equipped. The wifi was excellent, and parking permit provision brilliant. The position makes for excellent access to the hills above Barmouth as well as the town, but you do need to be fit, things get quite steep at times, and the staircase in the cottage is a glorified ladder. Travel light and with back-packs!
