What our customers say about their holidays

    • Emma - Verified booking

      We absolutely loved our stay!

On arrival we were greeted with a lovely warm, clean house with everything we needed to start our holiday such as; tea, coffee, butter and milk plus some added luxuries too which were very appreciated! We read through the welcome pack which was helpful, there is lots of space in the back which we felt could have included how the house should be left e.g where the cleaners wanted the towels, what temp the heating should be on, where the key should be left, hopefully we did everything right. Also a few local leaflets for days out would have been super helpful but not too much of problem given the WiFi. There were a couple of very minor issues in the bathroom; the window was either stuck closed or quite stiff, we didn't force it for fear of not closing it again. There was also some mould on the bottom of the shower curtain and around the bath. The kitchen was really well equipped and appliances were easy to use. The extendable dining table was great when we did lots of food for all of us. The house was in a great location, the kids loved watching the stream train go by on occasion. We walked to a local Italian restaurant and then onto a cocktail bar (Tabu) which were both amazing, as was Queens Fish and Chips. Overall a very good stay and we'd happily book again!! Huge thank you to the owners for great hospitality.

We loved the well equipped, comfortable and very spacious cottage.

There was a lot of attention to detail and the equipment was of very high quality. The flowers, milk and biscuits were very gratefully received and a lovely touch. Thank you. Lovely views and very clean. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars for cleanliness is that there was a lot of dog hair from a previous pet, and general debris under the furniture in the lounge which we found when we dropped something under there. The other issue was the recycling from previous week had filled the blue bin outside so we had to collect ours up indoors with nowhere to put it once the internal bin was full. We did leave a note to say that some kitchen scissors would be useful but a minor point - as would a slip mat for the shower which we went out and purchased to avoid a nasty accident. Overall a lovely cottage and we would definitely return - there are a lot of things to do in the area and we didn’t do them all in one visit. Thank you for a great stay in a lovely cottage.

Postmaster's Lodgings was a beautiful property, very well presented with some welcoming touches on our arrival.

The wine, biscuits and milk were gratefully received. My twin boys did find the smallest bedroom difficult to share, so would have benefitted from the larger bedroom being converted into a twin, but no one realised that all my boys are closer in stature to men than children! I would say it would have been helpful to have some simple instructions to operate the oven as a manual with numerous operating details proved unhelpful when arriving with a hungry family. By the time we left I still didn't understand how on the 2 occasions I'd got the oven on, what it was that had finally brought success! One other thing to bear in mind is that in choosing such a central location in the heart of a popular town, noise levels are to be endured. For this reason only, I would look for a quieter location for future holidays.

We had a fantastic week at the Postmaster's Lodging.

It was very well equipped, and the extra touches were lovely, in particular - wine and biscuits. The kitchen had everything we needed and the soap, toilet rolls and 2 towels each were very much appreciated. The beds were enormous and very comfortable. The owners seemed to have thought of everything. The position of the property was exactly what we were hoping for, lovely places to eat out and also good takeaways as well as the facilities to cook the occasional meal to eat in. The walks were fabulous and the views breathtaking. It's one of the prettiest places we've stayed in. Parking wasn't a problem at all, we parked on the pay and display carpark near the library and then paid online each day (£1 per day). We fully recommend staying in Winchcombe and definitely at the Postmaster's lodging.

I came to stay at the Post Master’s Lodgings with my son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters who had just arrived over from Japan.

The Post Master’s Lodgings is in the centre of Winchcombe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was warm, clean and very comfortable. The open plan kitchen sitting room was spacious light and airy. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. We loved the outlook over the streets and rooftops of Winchcombe from the bedroom windows. We found Winchcombe a delightful place to be in - full of history and interesting shops. Winchcombe is an also a good centre from which to visit the Cotswolds and Cheltenham. We did not find the lack of parking a problem. The short walk to the public car park was not too far or too inconvenient. It was good to stay in a place that had history and character and I can recommend The Post Master’s Lodgings.
