What our customers say about their holidays

We have just spent a lovely week at Dove Cottage in Naunton.

We were after a total get away from it all, relaxing break from our busy lives and we certainly had that at Dove Cottage. On arrival we were greeted with milk in the fridge, chocolates & prosecco. A nice touch by the owner. The property is well designed for a small Cottage. We were asked by the owner if we would like the bed in the loft space to be be made into a King size rather than two singles before we arrived. There is a comfortable double on the second floor. It's a very clean and well organised property. Naunton is a beautiful village with a very good pub within walking distance. Stow & Bourton are the closest villages for shops. Both are great for eating out. We took our 20 month old Jack Russell with us, who throughly enjoyed the walks and meeting the many horses in the local fields. We left the dogs 'Colin the Catapillar' and the owner has very kindly posted him back to us. A lovely break in a lovely part of the world.

      This home is stunning.

Was a lovely little home to escape to for our weeks holiday. When we arrived there was a cute little note welcoming us, along with chocolates and fizz in the fridge. The owners came to check on us to make sure everything was okay (we had been out exploring for the day and missed them) but the card left was lovely. I will say the bathroom does need a net at the window as you are able to wave to passers by when using the toilet haha. I would also advise that if you are taller than 6ft then you may need a helmet as the ceilings are low and my partner did have to duck to make sure he didn’t continuously hit his head and the stairs are very narrow, and can be difficult to walk down. However fully appreciate that the owners cannot change this - this also wouldn’t prevent us from returning as this home is beautiful. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your home!

      Dove Cottage was amazing!

Our family felt like we were home as soon as we stepped in the beautiful blue door. The cottage is cosy, charming, comfortable, and impeccably clean. All of ones needs are accounted for by the owners - from nightlights to torches to hair dryers and welcome gifts. They have truly thought of it all. Additionally, the kitchen has all you need to prepare a nice meal. If you're not in the mood to cook, we highly recommend the pubs in the local area. The Black Horse and the Hollow Bottom were both friendly and served excellent meals. Situated right off the stream and amidst numerous trekking routes, we were in heaven. The village is lovely too. Do take some time to explore it! Bottom line: if you are looking for a wonderful cottage in a gorgeous area, look no further!

Lovely cosy cottage in a great village location.

Very well equipped and comfortable. Some great walking from the door and the village pub is always very welcoming. The owners were warm and welcoming, whether in person or on the phone prior to arrival. This is an old, character property and the details do highlight that and the inherent features that some today may find different or difficult. The stairs are steep but there are plenty of hand rails. There is only a hand-held shower over the freestanding slipper bath (you can’t stand up) but that adds to them charm of the cottage. Some ceilings are sloped and low and give the cottage extra character. In terms of the parking space, I got a large estate car in but appreciate it is tight but there is plenty of on-road parking if you prefer.

We loved our stay in the beautiful Dove Cottage.

It felt like such a proper Cotswolds’ experience and the village was stunning. The bubbly and chocolates on arrival were a wonderful surprise. Bob and Barbara were very helpful, including when we changed our minds about the bed configuration at the last minute. Bob popped over to welcome us but other than that we were left to enjoy the cottage independently. Instructions were very informative. We also made friends with a delightful elderly cat next door called Dave; my three year old adored him! The stairs were steep, as expected in an old property, but didn’t phase us or our toddler. The parking was fine for our smaller car. Overall, a wonderful stay with lovely hosts. Thank you very much.
