What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Geere - Verified booking

Highly Recommend - Will definitely stay again - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great location to beach and village, both within short walking distance of the house. We're a family of 5 with two teenage surfing mad boys and our 9 year old beach mad daughter, so easy access to the beach and village was vital for us. Property was clean, well maintained, and well appointed. The high ceilings make the rooms feel spacious and open. Roof widows are an excellent addition if you are lucky enough to get hot weather like we did, and there is also no shortage of fans and TV's with both in just about every room. There is an electric fireplace in the sitting room although we never used this due to the glorious weather we had and sofas are a comfy relief after long days at the beach. Kitchen is well stocked will all the utensils, pots, pans, plates, cutlery, etc that one needs stashed away and available in the cupboards and draws. The breakfast bar and two stools are a nice touch and made the perfect place for me to feed the boys before they disappeared for the day. The outside shower is a massive positive as being able to de-sand and wash down outside before going into the house works really well especially with children and all the surfing and beach kit. All-in-all, a Great property, excellent location and we had a perfect week in Croyde Bay.

Visited 31st October for a 4 night break. Whilst the interior of the property offers an acceptable level of comfort, externally both the property together with surrounding properties could do with a makeover. The parking is not good if you have a decent sized car, the entrance is very narrow, however parking outside on the road was not a problem. At £730.00 for the 4 nights is not valid for money. We usually stay in Woolacombe where the properties we have stayed are in better locations with equivalent levels of comfort, at more reasonable price. In some instances up to £200 less for the same 4 nights. We decided to give Croyde a try as , a Though we have visited many times in the 30 odd years of visiting the area we had never stayed in the village. The Thatch pub has always had a good reputation, we ate here for lunch and evening meals twice and we were not disappointed. The Kings Arms in Georgian is also within easy reach, a pub we eat at every year during our stays in Woolacombe. There is a very good restaurant in Croyde, Th New Coast, fairly expensive but excellent food. All in all the village had all we needed, however we will not be be stopping at Pipedream again.

We stayed in this cottage for a four night break in winter with our large dog and baby. There is ample space in the accommodation and the location is excellent for the beach and the local pubs. The cottage had most of the things we needed for our stay it kitchen equipment. We did feel it lacked a cosy factor though and felt a little cold bare in most of the rooms. We had some issues with heating and contacted Marsdens who were really quick to respond. The owner came quickly to look at the problem whilst we were out but we still didn’t feel that the underfloor heating (the main source of heating) was fixed - although the cottage naturally warmed up after us being there a couple of days. It would have been nice to have a call back to check our issues had been sorted. The beds were really comfy and we slept well. All in all we had a lovely break and the location of this property was great for us, future guests wouldn’t be disappointed. I’m not sure we would go back to this particular place as we have had more preferable accommodation in the area before.

Cockleshell is a beautiful holiday home in a quiet street mostly comprising other holiday houses. The street is one of the routes from the residential areas of Croyde through the sand dunes to the beach and you do get quite a few passing pedestrians but there is no vehicular access so the only traffic is going to the houses on the street. We found the location very quiet and a short walk to both the village centre and the beach- perfect! The house itself was very well equipped and the wooden floors meant it was easy to keep clean. There is a hoover provided, which is really useful and helps you to keep on top of any sand coming in on kids’ feet! The XBox was a great bonus and loved by my kids although there was only one game (but glad there was a game!). My top tip for those visiting in Summer is to figure out how to open the velux as that is very effective at cooling the house along with the very welcome fans in each room. Highly recommended holiday house to anyone, but particularly families with primary or younger secondary kids.

The location of the property is excellent. Short walk to the beach and a couple of pubs. The property itself is spacious inside, although the bedrooms are quite small. The driveway is very narrow and if you have a large car it’s a struggle. Not impossible but a struggle especially in the dark. The television is placed too high on the wall for me. It wasn’t a comfortable position to relax and watch tv. The shower isn’t very good at all. The shower head isn’t positioned centrally over the bath and the water pressure is extremely low. There is a small outside area which we didn’t use but I’m sure would be nice in warmer weather. There is a security light also at the back which would either be on permanently, off or flicker on and off all night long. We couldn’t find a switch to turn it off. The heating is underfloor and managed by a heat pump, which is great but it would be beneficial to have some instructions on how to use. The property was very cold when we arrived and took some time to warm up.
