This gorgeous property, surrounded by beautiful countryside just a mile from the centre of Ringstead, is perfect for a big family getaway or friends’ reunion. Sleeping 15 over seven peaceful bedrooms, this converted barn is made up of two buildings, sleeping 11 in the main building and four in the cottage. Spend balmy summer evenings together in the garden, dining alfresco or enjoying an evening tipple as the sun sets.

The barn conversion, which has been sympathetically renovated to include original features, is spacious and welcoming. Take off coats and boots and leave them in the utility room as you head into the main barn, before moving through to the superb kitchen. Flagstone flooring, vaulted ceilings and exposed beams make it a pleasure to whip up meals on the AGA; sit around the corner seating if it’s just a few of you dining or use the bright and airy dining room when you’re all eating and take in the wonderful views from the patio door. The great hall is the ideal place to relax; light the wood burner and snuggle up on the sofas, or take advantage of the double-height windows and vaulted ceilings and sit in a chair with a book surrounded by plenty of light. Down two steps, another entrance area awaits with double patio doors to the garden; move to the cosy snug from here, which is the perfect spot for children to enjoy a board game or some TV. They’ll be happy to go to bed in the room with two sets of bunk beds; a peaceful double room adjoins making this area perfect for young families. A nautical-style bathroom is accessed from both the entrance hall and the bunk room. Up the open staircase to the first floor, three more peaceful bedrooms await; there are two steps down to the twin bedroom and main bedroom. The stunning main bedrooms features a stylish four-poster bed and superb exposed beams, along with a traditionally-styled en-suite bathroom that’s perfect for indulgent soaks. A beautiful farmhouse-style kitchen diner is the ideal spot for quick breakfasts before heading out for the day. Both double bedrooms have peaceful, neutral decor and more exposed beams; one benefits from a spa-like en-suite shower room, while the other has a charming seaside-style en-suite bathroom. Come together outside the main barn for an al fresco dinner under the covered patio, or steal a moment away from it all on the cottage patio. You’re free to wander the wild meadow grounds beyond.

Dubbed ‘Sunny Hunny’, the seaside town of Hunstanton is just 3 miles away and offers fun for all the family; enjoy the rides on the pleasure beach, visit SEA LIFE Hunstanton or try your hand at kayaking. You can also join the Norfolk Coastal Path from here, or enjoy a more sedate stroll around the grounds of Norfolk Lavender (3.5 miles). If you’ve brought the dogs, Brancaster (5 miles) has dog-friendly beaches as well as some renowned seafood restaurants and shops. Plus, Holkham Estate is just 12.5 miles away and has a stunning beach and deer park to explore along with the great house.
