With quiet roads and footpaths, lined with wild flowers, to negotiate by foot, car or cycle, it is ideal for exploring the majestic beauty of the Lake District National Park. The interesting old market town of Appleby 10 miles, with Kendal within a 15-mile drive. Yorkshire Dales, Coast-to-Coast Walk and the Cumbrian Cycle Way easily accessible. Ullswater and Windermere lakes within 23 miles. Shop and pub 300 yards.

Arrived at cottage amd couldn't access.Finally managed to access with help from customer services using previous booking reference.Cottage was in a disgusting state.No bed linen.No clean towels.Food left in freezerRubbish on floorToilet was disgusting.Property obviously hadn't been serviced.Booked a hotel room for our first nights stay.

I had a perfect stay in the cosy cottage in the lively village. The cottage was perfect for me for a night when I was hiking the coast to coast trail. I loved the location in the village and I walked to the local pub and post office shop. It was lovely. Nothing.
