Guests say

Corner Cottage in Bakewell is praised for its excellent location, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like a real Christmas tree and a welcome bottle of wine. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and the inclusion of a parking pass. Some mention the need for better recycling facilities and minor maintenance issues, but overall, the cottage is highly recommended for a pleasant stay.

Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, with only a few mentioning areas that could be improved, such as windows and a porch needing attention. The positive remarks outweigh the negatives, indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The location is consistently praised for being close to the village centre, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and walks. The steep hill is noted, but it does not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback about the location.

Guests describe the cottage as cosy, warm, and homely, with comfortable beds and a log burner. Some guests suggest improvements to the shower pressure and mattress quality, but these are minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. However, there are comments about the lack of recycling options, a non-functional dishwasher, and the need for better guest information. Maintenance issues slightly affect the score.

While guests mention thoughtful touches like a Christmas tree and a bottle of wine, these are not consistent across all reviews. Without more information on regular thoughtful gestures, it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

This was our 3rd visit to Corner Cottage & we’d already booked our 4th before we arrived. The place does not disappoint! Well equipped and really clean! We love the fire in the sitting room & on cold, damp February days it’s the perfect spot to snuggle up & read as the world goes by!Bakewell is close by, the the steep hill is not for the faint of heart but reward yourself with breakfast or lunch at Graze Cafe (our favourite spot) or pick up sweet or savoury treats from Bloomers bakery (including Bakewell puddings or tarts) to enjoy back at the cottage! Highly recommend their egg custard tart!Despite Bakewell being so close, the cottage still feels cosy & remote and the views from the bedroom are stunning!Thursday night is bell ringing practice at the church across the road & it’s lovely to hear something so traditional. All in all a wonderful place that we hope to visit for many more years to come.
