Guests say

Beech Hill in Kendal is a charming, well-equipped cottage praised for its stunning views, cosy atmosphere, and excellent location within easy walking distance of the town centre and local attractions. Guests consistently highlight the property's cleanliness, comfort, and beautiful decor. While parking and access involve some steps, most found these manageable. The main recurring issue is the rear terrace and garden, which have been inaccessible due to maintenance, but this did not detract significantly from guests' enjoyment. Overall, Beech Hill offers a delightful base for exploring Kendal and the Lake District.

Multiple reviews describe the property as spotlessly clean, tidy, and well maintained. Only one mention of an overflowing external bin was noted, but this was swiftly addressed. Overall, guests are very satisfied with the cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Kendal town centre, transport links, and easy access to the Lake District. Guests appreciate being able to walk into town and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Guests frequently mention the house is warm, cosy, comfortable, and feels like a home from home. The views from the living room add to the relaxing atmosphere. Some mention steps and the single upstairs toilet as minor considerations.

The cottage is described as well equipped and nicely furnished, with good internet and entertainment options. However, repeated issues with the rear terrace and garden access, as well as occasional maintenance needs (e.g., shower, boiler), have been noted.

There are no consistent mentions of welcome gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews. One review notes missing a welcome pack, but there is insufficient information to provide a score for this category.

Our third stay at the property, and first time we’ve had a few issues - shower tray didn’t drain on arrival, hairdryer looked like it had melted so was unsafe to use and external bin was overflowing with rubbish. The plumbing problem was sorted swiftly which we were grateful for and overall we did have a great stay and were happy we returned - the views from the living room alone are stunning. . The house is warm and cosy and very close to town, as well as in a good position to explore the Lakes. Missed having a welcome pack and it could do with a general freshen up, that would make it 5 stars again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Beech Hill. The impressive views and excellent location made for a very relaxing holiday. We hardly used our car, walks directly from the house or a convenient bus stop with routes to Windemere, Ambleside and Keswick only 5 minutes walk. We hope to return in the future.
