About this property

This lovely, semi-detached cottage is situated on the main street, in the heart of the village of Roundstone, less than 15 miles from the popular town of Clifden, in County Galway. Boasting views of Roundstone Bay and mountains, this traditional, light and airy Roundstone cottage offers three lovely bedrooms, a ground floor double with en-suite shower, a double and a single, providing flexible sleeping arrangements for families and friends who wish to explore this wonderful area together. On the ground floor of Sea Watch House there is a well-equipped kitchen/diner for rustling up tasty dishes, ready to savour at the dining table, a handy utility, and an inviting sitting room with plush seating, open fire and TV, perfect for relaxing after a busy day of exploring. You will also have access to a well-appointed bathroom on the first floor, where you can freshen up with a choice of bath or overhead shower. Outside this Roundstone cottage there is a raised rear lawned garden, where you're able to soak up the sun's rays, whilst enjoying some home-cooked food. The village of Roundstone is well worth exploring, with its historic attractions, harbour, and festivals, along with shops, restaurants, pubs and a children's playground. A sandy beach is only two miles away, whilst the golf course at Ballyconneely, the town of Clifden, and the stunning Connemara National Park are all close by. Secure your stay at Sea Watch House, which is bound to please, at any time of year.

Roundstone is located on the western arm of Bertraghboy Bay in the Connemara district of County Galway. Seals rock (Chloch na Ron) is a big boulder that looks like an inverted bath tub and serves as a landmark at the entrance to Roundstone harbour. Roundstone Haven is another name for the bay. There are a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes, stores, and a playground for kids at Roundstone. There is also a traditional Irish night in the summer and a number of events held there throughout the year. The remains of a monument to St. Brendan may be found on Inishnee, a small island in Roundstone Bay, and the bell tower of the Franciscan Monastery can be seen in the Michael Killeen Park. Gurteen and Dog's Bay beaches are only a 5-minute drive away, while other nearby activities include horseback riding, deep sea fishing, hill walking, and cycling. The Connemara Golf Club is located only eight miles from Roundstone, and further afield there is beautiful landscape to be enjoyed on foot, on bike, or in a car. Clifden, a busy town with lots to see, is close by, as is the Connemara National Park, and the capital of Galway can be reached in an hour by car.

Sea Watch looks directly out on the sea and the islands in the bay. It is stunning, to see the view from the living room. I liked the comfort and space in the house. My mum is ill and in her 80s, and she was delighted with the house as she had an ensuite shower-room on the ground floor, just off the living room. The beds are good quality and sleep 2 doubles and a single. The kitchen has a full cooker and microwave, fridge-freezer and all the cooking utensils you could ask for. The cupboards are clean, no dry goods provided. The local shop is well stocked with fresh food, but is expensive for stuff that locals don't need. For example you will need salt and pepper - salt and pepper costs €3.49 each.

We found the house very cozy and comfortable and mostly suitable to our taste. The location was fantastic and we had a gorgeous view of the Bay which we love. Access to all the great places to eat in Roundstone was very helpful. We would definitely book Seawatch again. Mary was extremely helpful and friendly and we very much appreciated her welcome and warmth. A big thank you Mary for a great week.
