About this property

This delightful, semi-detached former fisherman's cottage is located in the pretty seaside town of Kilkee, just 10 miles from the coastal town of Kilrush, in County Clare. Fully refurbished, and finished to a very high standard, this cosy Kilkee cottage seamlessly combines its charming character and traditional features with modern, contemporary fixtures and fittings, making it a great Kilkee cottage all year round. Throughout this Kilkee cottage are quarry slate tiled floors and original latch doors, and combined with the Belfast sink in the kitchen, and the woodburner in the sitting area, guests can enjoy a true taste of tradition. Located in the town, guests can easily access all of the amenities from the doorstep of Kilkee Cottage, while the mile-long stretch of sandy Blue Flag beach is just 2 minutes' walk, and provides a great day out for all the family. Behind the beach lies Kilkee Golf Club, an 18-hole course with stunning views out to the Atlantic Ocean, while links courses at Doonbeg and Lahinch are a short drive away. Enjoy country and cliff-top walks, play a round of golf, or enjoy the fun of Waterworld; there is something for everybody from this Kilkee cottage.

Kilkee is a seaside town on the westerncoast of County Clare overlooking the sandy beach that is protected from the Atlantic weather by the Duggerna Reef. The Kilkee Surf School runs surf camps for children aged 9 to 16 at Kilkee and Doughmore beaches every week of the summer holidays and close by is Waterworld which has a range of indoor water attractions including a bubble pool, shower geysers, the 'lazy river ride' and a 61m crystal tower slide. The 18-hole championship golf course is situated on the road towards George's Head and stretches along the spectacular cliffs. Kilkee has a variety of cafés and restaurants specialising in locally caught fish and shellfish and the pubs and bars have regular music competitions, traditional Irish nights, cabaret, dancing and pub theatre.

Kitchen/living room area ideal for family. In Kilkee for one week - weather horrific so would have been helpful if we had drying facility - even somewhere local with vending drier for swim towels etc. Overall very happy.

    Highly recommend it

  • Yvonne

Very comfortable and spacious kitchen living room area and great having the wind sheltered outside area. 1 min walk from the town and 2 min to the beach. Clean and everything functioned. Our two teenage children had a bedroom each which was great too. Can thoroughly recommend. Could also be nice in winter as very cosy. Brian
