Location and style… This traditional detached cottage has it all! Sitting in an idyllic location beside a tidal inlet just ¼ mile from the ruins of 16c Ballycarbery Castle.
The cottage style interiors are beautifully presented and offer plenty of space for 4 to 6 guests with a spacious sitting room and an open fire. The kitchen/dining room is well equipped and has French doors onto the garden, perfect for alfresco dining. The views are pretty special too so it’s time to switch off and relax.
The nearby market town of Cahersiveen is just four miles away. Dine at one of the excellent seafood restaurants, enjoy traditional music at the local pubs and stroll around the new marina, a haven for boat lovers. This is a lively little town with a regular ferry running to Valentia Island. The town sits at the foot of Beentee Mountain. Visit Ballycarbery Castle, the Daniel O’Connell Memorial Church and ancient stone forts. Cahersiveen is also one of the most far west towns in Europe!
Visit Skellig Michael unesco World Heritage Site. Right at the top of the summit is St Fionan’s monastery which was used by monks until the 13th century. Step back in time and take the 618 steps to the summit… the views are incredible! Not only is this of historic significance, it’s also a major breeding ground for the gannet and home to the second largest colony in the world! This is an International Dark Sky Reserve so there’s no light pollution which means it’s perfect for stargazing.
