Tanyllyn is a lovely semi detached cottage situated in the pretty village of Carno, among the rolling hills of Mid Wales. The cottage has lovely rural views whilst enjoying the amenities of the village. These include a store, post office and hotel/pub, all within a short walking distance in the village. It is a pretty part of Mid Wales with rolling hills and pretty valleys.

The Cottage- accommodation

Tanyllyn is an old cottage (circa late 1700s) that whilst being modernised, has retained a lot of it's original character whilst being tastefully extended. Accommodation - Ground floor - the lounge/dining room is accessed via the front porch. There is a comfortable sofa and armchairs and a dining table and chairs that can accommodate 6. The original beams are exposed and the Welsh stone fire place houses a multi burner stove. The television-(Sat view) is discretely placed to the side of the chimney breast and can be swung out as needed. there is also a DVD player, radio and CD player and WiFi. On the bookcase are various books and board games. Leading off the lounge is the kitchen with electric cooker, microwave , dish washer, fridge/freezer and a food mixer. There is ample cutlery and crockery including baking tins and dishes. Adjacent to the kitchen is the downstairs bathroom which houses the washing machine and pegs for the washing line in the garden! The kitchen leads into the the conservatory and drive which holds 3 cars.

The first floor is accessed via a narrow staircase at the rear of the lounge ( beware of a low beam). Bedroom 1 is a double bedded room, bedroom 2 has two single beds and bedroom 3 has full sized off set bunk beds. Off the top landing is the shower and toilet.

The large back garden is accessed from the parking area via 5 steps. it is enclosed with hedges and fences and lawned with fruit trees and shrubs with a picnic table. It is an ideal place to BBQ (coal BBQ available in the garden) and enjoy the views, and for children to play; there is also a children's playground in the village.

Tan y Llyn is a lovely semi detached cottage situated in the pretty village of Carno, among the rolling hills of Mid Wales. The cottage has lovely rural views whilst enjoying the amenities of the village. These include a store, post office and hotel/pub, all within a short walking distance. Carno is a stones throw from The Snowdonia National Park, the pretty coastal resort of Aberdovey and the borderlands of Wales and England offering picturesque villages and historical market towns. At hand is Powys castle, a National trust property at Welshpool and Montgomery Castle, remains from a bygone era. Newtown is the local market town situated on the River Severn. The town has an abundance or restaurants, shops, supermarkets and a cinema as well as a museum and library. The surrounding areas are ideal for walkers with an abundance of footpaths including Glyndwrs, Kerry Ridgepath, Offa's Dyke and Brecon Beacon, whilst Shrewsbury, Aberystwyth and Ludlow are all within an hour's drive of the cottage.

Tanyllyn is situated at the gateway to Mid Wales and affords not just beautiful scenery but a wide selection of places to visit, catering for a variety of interests and tastes. The coastal resorts of Aberdovey(Aberdyfi) with a lovely beach, and Aberystwyth, are within a hour’s drive whilst the Snowdonia National Park starts 20 minutes north of the cottage. Mid Wales hills have an abundance of walks, marked on the OS maps, (on the bookcase), as well as places of interest. These include Powys Castle (National Trust), The Red Kite sanctuary near Rhyader, Devils bridge falls and walk.

Montgomery, the old county town of Montgomeryshire, has a delightful castle ruin and is a lovely unspoilt small town. Whilst there, a place not to miss is Bunners, an Aladdin’s cave that sells all manner of things including nails by the pound, as well as a multitude of varied stock. Close by is Monty’s micro brewery. Ludlow is an old town just over the border with an extensive castle and pleasant town. Approaching Ludlow you will pass The Ludlow Food hall, really worth a visit if you like artisan food.

If gin is your tipple the Dyfid distillery is a must. It is to found at the Corris craft centre near Machynlleth, which has a variety of small craft studios as well as King Arthur’s Labyrinth, a great visit for children and the whole family. If birds are your thing Cors Dyfi, south of Machynlleth, is worth a trip. Since 2007 Ospreys have nested here, with many other species. All can be seen from the hides.

Carno is situated in Mid Wales on the A470, between Caersws and Talerddig. It is 11 miles west from Newtown and 14 miles south east of Machynlleth. It is 40 miles from the Shrewsbury and the M54, which links to the M6/M42
