Guests say

The Dairy in Clonmel is a charming and peaceful cottage, appreciated for its quiet location and friendly hosts. Guests have enjoyed the comfortable bed, the well-equipped facilities, and the property's proximity to local sights. While some minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance were mentioned, the overall experience has been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some guests found it decent, others noted cobwebs and dust. The high ceilings may contribute to the cobweb issue, but it was not a major deterrent.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility and proximity to attractions. Guests enjoyed the quietness, with only natural sounds, and found it to be a good base for exploring nearby sights.

Comfort received positive remarks for the bed, but there were complaints about the sofa and bedding quality. The peaceful environment contributed to the comfort, but improvements in living room furniture are suggested.

There is not enough information to accurately score the facilities and maintenance. While some guests mentioned well-equipped facilities and a comfortable bed, specific references to the range of facilities or their maintenance are limited.

No reviews mentioned gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

In the southern part of County Tipperary, near the Knockmealdown Mountains, on the River Suir, lies a little settlement called Ardfinnan. The village has a lovely open green, a few nice pubs, a store, and Ardfinnan Castle, an outstanding Norman building that dominates the settlement's centre with majesty. The bustling town of Clonmel is eight miles distant and is located close to the Tipperary and Waterford border. The town boasts a variety of stores, pubs, and restaurants to enjoy, but Magners Cider is arguably what makes it most well-known. History-rich Clonmell is the only town in Ireland that was able to repel Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army during his siege of Ireland in the 17th century. The residents were evacuated to safety utilising General O'Neill's strategies. With the majestic Comeragh Mountains serving as a striking backdrop, the neighbouring Nire Valley provides several chances for cycling and strolling. The M8 highway is not far from Ardfinnan, making it simple to travel to County Cork and Dublin. This makes Ardfinnan the ideal starting point for year-round Irish exploration.

Beautiful setting in converted out buildings on a working farm but you’d never guess, it was so quiet. Plenty of cobwebs due to the high ceiling but not off putting. (Window cleaner sorted that out)

  • Martin

It’s so peaceful and our hosts are very caring We were fortunate with the weather too! There’s plenty to see and do when touring around. Information leaflets in the property are very helpful. Au revoir!
