Guests say

The Braes is a well-regarded lodge in Killybegs, praised for its cleanliness, stunning views, and value for money. Guests appreciate its cosy and comfortable atmosphere, though some suggest it could benefit from updates and maintenance. Its location is ideal for exploring Donegal, with a friendly local contact mentioned.

The property is consistently described as very clean, which indicates high standards of cleanliness. However, one mention of a musty smell in the bedroom slightly affects the score.

The location is frequently praised for its beautiful views and convenience for touring the area, though the necessity to drive into town due to unsafe walking conditions slightly lowers the score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable and well-equipped, with a spacious lounge and great views. However, suggestions for updating the bedroom and replacing the mattress indicate room for improvement in comfort.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the property being described as cosy and well-equipped. However, reports of worn settees, old appliances, and maintenance issues with the cooker hob and lights indicate the need for attention to facilities and maintenance.

There is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

A lovely cottage - comfortable and well equipped - in a great location for exploring this part of Donegal. Be aware that linen and fuel are extra and keep some cash to pay for them (we spent €50) but it’s still a very reasonable cost and great value for money.
