The ancient, Royal Burgh town of Peebles rests proudly in the beautiful River Tweed valley, amidst the picturesque Scottish Border Hills. The town's heart lies at its main shopping street, situated on a spur of land between the River Tweed and Eddleston Water, and is home to an array of fine shops, interesting pubs, quality restaurants and the Eastgate Theatre. Located in an area boasting lower than average rainfall, clean air and bright sunshine, visitors flock to Peebles throughout the year to enjoy a variety of events which include art festivals, highland games and the renowned Beltane Week.
