Guests are impressed by the property's decor, quality furnishings, and the convenience of local amenities. The beautiful garden and the property's location across from the river add to the charm. While there are minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests eager to return.
Most guests found The River House to be clean and well-maintained, though there was a mention of a water leak and some marked bed linen in one of the bedrooms. These seem to be isolated incidents, as the majority of reviews do not raise cleanliness as an issue.

Ramelton, a peaceful historic settlement in County Donegal, is located where the River Lennon merges with Lough Swilly at the tip of the Fanad Peninsula. Ramelton, which was founded in the 17th century and is tucked within a wooded valley, is known for its unusual warehouse architecture on its quays. One of Donegal's most significant ports, Ramelton has a rich history. In the 1800s, ships from the Caribbean came here to export the village's linen. Even though the area is now quieter, there are still a lot of friendly local businesses that welcome tourists, and there are plenty of chances for golfers and fisherman. Beaches at Rathmullan and Dunfanaghy are both close by, as is the charming Fanad Head.

We loved the spacious rooms, the kitchen / lounge area was very well equipped and had everything you need to cook including a great range oven. The food truck opposite the house offers very good quality food if you want a break from cooking. It was a pleasure to sit in the lovely library room with it's great selection of books, enjoyed the quiet and very comfortable ambience. Bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms were super clean! The courtyard garden and the main gardens are very impressive and a great bonus, if you get good weather!!!!Overall the best holiday house ever. Ramelton is very interesting place and a good base for visiting lots of places.

We had a fabulous stay and were very comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay here again. It made our holiday so enjoyable. It is in an excellent location with easy parking outside and an amazing garden. The owner is very responsive and we had a couple of minor practical issues which were swiftly dealt with.

Unfortunately the weather was not good enough for us to enjoy the garden but the bright open kitchen/dining/living area more than made up for it. The village is very nice, more there than it first appears. We found it a good location for exploring the area. We would recommend this property.
