Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de Bernia, Villa Tarta is an ideal base for exploring local trails, including a scenic route to the historic Fort de Bernia, built in 1562. The nearby village of Altea la Vella offers charming shops and restaurants, while a short drive north takes you to the vibrant town of Calpe, home to the iconic Penon de Ifach mountain. Visitors can hike to the summit through a dramatic tunnel, rewarded with stunning views over the bay. Calpe’s fishing port buzzes with activity, and local eateries serve fresh seafood, including classic paella dishes.
For beach lovers, Calpe’s Playa del Arenal Bol is a popular spot, with its white sand and lively promenade lined with cafes and bars. North of the town, the Ruta Ecologica Benissa trail connects hidden coves, like Cala de la Fustera, perfect for swimming or snorkeling.
