Guests say

Tithe Barn is consistently praised for its comfort, stunning views, and excellent location near Melbourne Hall and local amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, luxurious bathroom, and added bonuses like a snooker table. The property's charm, including its low beams, adds to the magical experience, although tall guests should mind their heads. The warm welcome, often with cakes, and thoughtful touches are noted and appreciated.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score.

The location is highly praised for its fabulous views, proximity to Melbourne Hall, Gardens, and local facilities. The ease of access to town and the surrounding beauty contribute to the high score.

Guests find the property very comfortable, with inviting furnishings, comfy beds, and a warm bathroom. The mention of low ceilings affecting tall people slightly impacts the score.

The property is well-equipped with a kitchen, snooker table, and games. However, suggestions for a sweeping brush, mop, and garden access, as well as minor maintenance issues like proud nails, indicate room for improvement.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful welcome gifts, which contribute to the positive experience. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it should be noted that such gestures, though common, are not guaranteed.

Melbourne is a small Georgian market town in a delightful part of South Derbyshire on the edge of The National Forest. It is about 8 miles south of Derby and 2 miles from the River Trent. It contains a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. The village is also home to The church of St Michael with St Mary which is on the site of a much earlier Anglo Saxon building, and is regarded as one of the finest Norman Parish Churches in the country. It is 8 miles north of Swadlincote. There is much to enjoy in the village, including a lovely relaxing walk through rolling South Derbyshire countryside, starting from Melbourne’s medieval market place. Two of the county’s gems, Melbourne Hall and the Parish Church of St Michael’s, are passed in the early part of your stroll. Make the most of this attractive location all year round.

Very relaxing break. Barn is lovely - comfy beds, kitchen well equipped for what we needed, snooker table appreciated by teenage son as were the welcome cakes.

Beautiful area and views and lovely walks. Nearby facilities are great. Very much appreciated the lovely welcome gifts and snooker table/ games were well received. Would have liked a sweeping brush and mop. Access to the garden at the back would have been a lovely addition and plenty of room for a dart board in the game room. Property wasn’t the easiest to identify so a name plaque would be a great addition and a few proud nails in the floor in the game room need knocking back in. It is a beautiful building though and we will definitely be back and highly recommend it to others.
