Guests say

Guests generally enjoyed their stay at the cottage, praising its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and the hot tub as a highlight. The views and privacy were appreciated, and the property's location made it a good base for exploring the area. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.

The cottage received high marks for cleanliness, with guests finding the rooms clean and well-kept. There was a single mention of an oven needing a professional clean, but this appears to be an isolated comment rather than a trend.

The location was highly regarded for its views, privacy, and proximity to local attractions. The cottage's position on the edge of the National Forest and the Peak District was seen as ideal for exploring the surrounding area.

Comfort was a strong point, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the house cosy. However, there were comments about the upstairs loft being cold and the bunk beds being unsuitable for adults, which suggests room for improvement.

Facilities were generally good, especially the hot tub, which was a consistent favourite among guests. Some maintenance issues were raised, such as a broken dishwasher and the need for additional kitchen equipment. The presence of only one bathroom for larger groups was also a concern.

While some guests missed personal touches like a welcome pack and a guest book, these were not consistently mentioned across the reviews. As such, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the available information.

Paint splashes on floor , something ( I don’t know what ) splashed all down bathroom door. Rotten decking and paint peeling. Obviously not checked properly as we found evidence of previous occupants. Had to go and buy a plunger on the last day as toilet blocked. Complained to Sykes and no response. Absolutely gutted , we saved really hard for this over a really tough 12 months.

We stayed for 3 nights & would have loved to stay longer. Extremely clean, hot tub was fantastic, beds really comfortable. Simon Faulkner was available at the end of the phone for any queries. The only suggestion I have that would improve our stay would be to convert the downstairs cupboard into a bathroom. One bathroom between 4 girls was not ideal
