Guests say

The Loft at Amber View in Belper is highly praised for its scenic location, privacy, and the welcoming touches provided by the owners. Guests have enjoyed the beautiful views, the welcome basket, and the property's proximity to local areas for exploration. While most feedback is positive, there are minor comments on the comfort of the furniture and the self-cleaning policy for utensils.

The property generally appears to be well-maintained, though there is a mention of utensils not being fully cleaned. This suggests room for improvement in checking cleanliness between stays.

The location receives high praise for its scenic views and peaceful, quiet area, making it an ideal setting for a memorable stay.

The comfort of the property is mostly appreciated, but there are remarks about the bed and settee not being the comfiest, indicating that while satisfactory, there is potential for enhancement.

There is insufficient information to accurately assess the overall state of facilities and maintenance, as the reviews do not provide enough detail on this aspect.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through the welcome basket and additional goodies. However, it should be noted that such personal touches, while delightful, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Visit Derby, which has museums, an arboretum, and Darley Park, or alternatively, visit Matlock Bath, which has arcades, an aquarium, the Heights of Abraham walk, and The Peak District Mining Museum, which gives visitors an insight into the region's past. There are plenty of other places to explore, such as the charming village of Bakewell, which is home to independent shops, pubs, and cafés, and serves home-made Bakewell Tarts. Other nearby towns include Ashbourne, Wirksworth, Brassington, Cromford, and Chatsworth. There are numerous amazing walks in the Peak District National Park, such as those at Thor's Cave, Lud's Church, The Roaches, and Kinder Scout. All of this and so much more with a stay at The Loft at Amber View.

The village of Ripley in Lower Nidderdale, situated on the leeward side of the Yorkshire Dales, was designed and built, by Sir William Amcotts Ingleby in the 1830's. Sir William was so inspired by a model estate village he saw on a visit to France, that he came home and demolished the existing buildings in Ripley, beginning again from scratch to a classic French design. Today, the village is small and unspoilt and boasts a beautiful Castle in the centre (still home to the Ingleby family) with extensive gardens open to the public which include waterfalls, bridges and a lake. Deer graze in the grounds and there is a shop and tea-rooms within the Castle. The village has a large cobbled market place in the centre, overlooked by the Boar's Head - an old coaching inn which offers an excellent restaurant, bar and bistro. There is a village store and ice cream parlour where visitors can enjoy the very popular Ripley ice cream, along with a butcher’s, art gallery and much more.

We really enjoyed the peaceful quiet area and the views from the large window was amazing. The Loft had all the comforts and was very private We hope to visit again soon.

Although the bed and settee aren’t the comfiest and it could do with some sort of blind on the big window. Some of the utensils weren’t cleaned fully as guests clean their own after their stay, this could maybe be checked a little better before the next guest.

The propertty itself is easy to find and very accessable, the beautiful view from the large window is unforgettable and we were even treated to morning wake ups from the cows in the field across! So many places to explore even just by stepping outside the door aswell as other local areas, the owners left a gorgeous welcome basket with coffee, snacks, fresh milk in the fridge and clean towels and dressing gowns. We would 100% reccomend and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you!
