Guests say

The Malthouse in Matlock is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its spaciousness, cleanliness, and unique character. The property's multiple kitchens and living areas, alongside the historical mill features, provide a charming and versatile space for large groups. Its proximity to local amenities and attractions in Cromford and the Peak District adds to its appeal, despite some concerns about road noise and maintenance issues.

Guests consistently commend the property for its cleanliness, with numerous mentions of the house being 'flawlessly clean' and well-maintained. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experiences reported by visitors.

The location is generally appreciated for its proximity to local shops, pubs, and scenic walks, with easy access to Cromford and Matlock Bath. However, some guests noted the property is less rural than expected and mentioned traffic noise, which slightly impacts the overall satisfaction with the location.

The property is frequently described as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with plenty of space and well-received bedroom arrangements. A few guests mentioned issues with mattresses and noise from the road, but these were not widespread concerns.

While the unique features and ample amenities are highlights, several guests encountered issues with kitchen appliances and maintenance. The presence of three kitchens was both a novelty and a source of confusion. Some guests reported problems with ovens and a lack of clarity regarding waste disposal.

Thank you. A few points to improve customer satisfaction: Toilet roll supply was really mean, and we were only 8 sharing a property for 18! Bins are needed in all rooms without en suite facilities. Walking down the corridor with bits of rubbish is not great. We could not find a mop/bucket to sponge the floor after a spill in the kitchen. Nor could we find any scissors. Wooden worktops were clean but very sticky from whatever they were sprayed with which was not pleasant. The hand basin in bathroom on top floor was taking a long time to drain, and is potentially shared by 6 people. And also the loo lid needs repairing. Room no 4 also had a loose toilet seat. Bulbs in all lamps not working. Could this be checked before each let? And only one set of keys, in spite of having the key safe, was a little worrying. A spare set would improve customer satisfaction. But our main disappointment was arriving on to a steep hill, pounding with traffic, including lots of lorries, and being shocked that we were not in a more rural setting which was anticipated, given the photos and description. The outside garden and small table down steep stairs would not encourage us to book this property in the summertime. I hope this feedback is helpful. We had a great time anyway, in spite of half a week of incessant rain which clearly you cannot control.

This was only an issue because I guess that previous occupants haven't reported things that need looking at.

Plenty of rooms to find your own space and big rooms to get together.
