Guests say

Guests consistently praise Poppie's Shepherds Hut for its stunning surroundings, cosy and romantic atmosphere, and exceptional cleanliness. The owner, Chris, is commended for his welcoming and helpful nature. The hot tub and scenic views offer a tranquil experience, while the lack of Wi-Fi is seen as a chance to disconnect and enjoy the peaceful environment.

Reviewers unanimously mention the high level of cleanliness, with the hut being described as thoroughly clean and tidy, contributing to the overall comfort and appeal.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with guests enjoying the lake views, nature sounds, and proximity to local attractions, making it an ideal getaway.

Comfort is frequently highlighted, with guests finding the hut cosy and the beds comfortable. Special touches like star lights add to the romantic and comfortable setting.

Facilities are well-received, with the hot tub being a standout feature. However, the mention of needing more logs suggests a slight deduction for maintenance. No negative comments about facilities otherwise.

While guests express appreciation for the owner's helpfulness and the provision of a local guidebook, there are no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

The cabin was so cosy and clean and the hot tub was amazing. Chris was great and helped us sort the hot tub when we struggled to light it!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. Very pretty and quiet area but with pubs and eateries nearby!

The hut is very comfortable and clean. There is storage space under the bed so you can put your bags away during your stay. There are 3 other huts located around the field but it still feels very private and perfect for a couples get away. The hot tub was lovely and we definitely enjoyed it! I would advise that it does take a while to warm up but once it’s at the right temperature, it will stay warm for a good while. We did have to contact the owners to ask for more logs and kindling but they were very nice on the phone. There is no WiFi and there is little signal in terms of phones but this does allow you to switch off from it all for a while. Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend!!
