It is an idyllic hideaway for couples seeking tranquillity in the heart of the Lake District National Park, with many fell and valley walking routes right from the doorstep. Embark on scenic walks to nearby attractions like Stanley Ghyll Waterfall (less than 1 mile) with its cantilevered viewing point over the waterfalls, the picturesque River Esk (approximately 2 miles) with its stepping stones and deep pools and the nearby historic village of Boot (5.5 miles). Devoke Water (1.5 miles), the largest tarn in the Lake District, is just a short walk away from the property or investigate the archaeological sites including Neolithic and Bronze Age stone circles and settlements nearby. Take a short drive to the majestic Wastwater (11 miles), the deepest lake in England, Wasdale Head (13.5 miles) and Scafell Pike (13 miles) or head further west to the unspoiled beaches of the western coast. Visit Hardknott Pass (9 miles) with its Roman fort and wild swimming pools at Tongue Pot. Take a trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway (8 miles), locally known as the La al Ratty , visit Ravenglass (8 miles) with its Roman Bathhouse or Muncaster Castle (7 miles) with its spectacular gardens, Hawk and Owl Centre.
