Guests consistently praise Middletown for its spaciousness, comfort, and prime location in Keswick. The property is well-equipped, maintained, and ideal for both families and groups of friends. Its proximity to local attractions and the responsiveness of the owners add to the positive experience. The garden and views are also appreciated.
There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score for this category.
The location is highly praised for being central, close to the lake, town, and within easy access to local walks and public transport, making it perfect for exploring Keswick and the surrounding areas.
The property is described as comfortable, cosy, and suitable for large groups, with special mentions of comfy beds and cosy sitting areas. The spaciousness adds to the overall comfort.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample seating. However, a suggestion for a larger dining table and the addition of a slow cooker indicate room for improvement.
While the reviews reflect positive experiences and mention the helpfulness of the owners, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.
Middletown is a beautifully restored four-bedroom, Georgian holiday home located in the heart of Keswick, Cumbria and the Lake District National Park. Middletown is the ideal home for families or groups of up to eight guests. The bespoke kitchen is well equipped and is complemented by a comfortable dining area adjacent to the kitchen, making this an attractive cooking and dining space. Completing the picture is a wood burner, perfect for cosy informal meals. The paved rear garden provides outdoor dining and barbeque options and there is table football for kids in the adjacent barn. After supper, make your way to the sitting room and unwind as you catch-up on the Sky TV. A spacious shower room with push button quartz shower completes the downstairs. On the first floor, you will find three well-presented bedrooms; a king-size and two twins, one of which has access to a balcony with views of Skiddaw and Latrigg, and all have access to the family bathroom. The fourth bedroom located on the second floor has a king-size bed and great views of the surrounding mountains. With the adjacent en-suite bathroom this provides a convenient separate suite. Middletown is the perfect location for your next trip to the Lakes. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1110395, together sleeping up to 11 guests.
Keswick, as the northern Lake District's tourist hub, is a great destination any time of year. Derwentwater, a beautiful lake at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley, is only a few minutes' walk from the town centre, and it also features numerous shops and restaurants to cater to a wide range of tastes, as well as miniature golf, excellent parks, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and great mountain biking opportunities. Between Braithwaite and Buttermere sits the gorgeous Newlands Valley, and Bassenthwaite Lake is a must-see for its beauty. There are walks for everyone, from easy strolls across the countryside to strenuous climbs of Skiddaw or the well-known Catbells. Take a fantastic boat excursion around Derwentwater, see the impressive Castlerigg Stone Circle, and relax in the beautiful grounds and mansion at Mirehouse, located on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. This is a fantastic Lake District destination year-round because to its many family-friendly attractions, beautiful parks, and proximity to the Lake District Wildlife Park.
